Sticky Buds

Are sticky buds due to genetics and environment? I was wondering if there were and stickier seeds available out there?

Some strains are sticker for sure. I’ve grown super sticky gorilla glue #4 and grandaddy purple photo a couple of times and most recent my most sticky plant ever Whiskey Zulu auto which was actually wet and greasy looking also super petrol smelling
