Some dead leaves normal?

I am 3 weeks into flowering and on one of my plants this morning, I took off 3-5 leaves that had dried up really bad. The stem for these leaves just snapped right off cleanly.. The rest of the plant appears normal with good white hairs appearing.. Is it normal for the plant to kill off some of the leaves or is there a possible problem??

Hard to say without pics but do not pluck the leaves, they will fall off when they are ready. They just died overnight?

lol, but you still have all the slot machine records! Tt is odd for leaves to die that early in flower, if they were fan leaves then something is definitely wrong. I just think it's especially odd if they died overnight.

hi soul.
no at 3 wks flowering they should not really be dying .
but saying that some of the bottom leaves on my plants turn a little yellow and die off.and it hasnt hurt anything. i think the more experiance you have with growing the more you will perfect it. if you could give us all a little more info that would help us help you.ok.

its usually my leaves at the bottom that get hit by watering with nutes that die ,,,,but they just go crispy and drop off eace:

Here are some photos.. The first shows all 3 plants in the closet I have.. I have no clue why the one on the right is so much larger than the rest. At first I thought it was going to be a male since it grew so big so much faster than the others.. The issue with one is on the far left.. The tops look good, but as the photo shows, something is up.. They are all in soil, FF ocean/happy frog mixture.. Using arrowhead bottled water, FF big bloom nutes barely.. I put them outside in the sun most of the time during the day.. Thanks for any help..

then again, my plants do that in flower, but im a soil guy. but the pic of the leaf sais ph all day, or ozone??????

plants look otherwise pretty healthy from here, keep it up!

looks like my babies man. just found out ive been giving them 7.4 tap water. ima go with bonez.

im just fixing it. first flush and water. i have pulled several hundred leaves between 14 plants at 8 wks veg

Thanks Bonez and Lotek.. Its weird because they are all getting the exact same water and have the same soil, but only one plant is really showing this issue..

It happens, it looks like a ph issue to me also. If you look through my grow journal I had some ph issues. I have two plants in the same pot and one was affected while the other wasn't! Some plants are just naturally more resilient than others.

Cadlamike1, how did you go about fixing your pH? Did you just use the formulas that I have seen called pH Up or Down?

Well that is how i fix the ph in my tap water, with the ph up or down but I was having trouble with the runoff water being also screwed up even after I fixed my water, that let me know that the problem was now in my soil. I added lime to my soil because it acts like a buffer and will always try to get the PH to return to neutral 7.0 regardless of whether it is too high or too low. 7.0 is not a healthy ph for marijuana plants, but by adding water with the ideal ph it is much easier to manage ph now, and I don't have to deal with the drastic swings anymore.

Lime? Are you referring to dolomite lime? Haven't had any experience with it.. being my first grow and all.. Thanks.

Yes dolomite lime, after lots of research on the internet and some crazy (unnecessary)algebra,i finally found out about one tablespoon per gallon of dirt will help.(Thank you again to those who helped me with that) Apparently lime is very forgiving and exact measurements aren't necessary, but I like to measure and be precise and record things so I did.

Ideally you want to add it before your grow, but i didn't and neither did you. So what i did was spread it on top and then mix it into the top three inches or so of the soil, I didn't want to go too deep and disturb the root system too much, my plants were younger than yours when I did this so your root system is definitely more complex than mine was, all I'm saying is be careful and try not to hurt the roots. I should also add that lime is in noways an instant fix, it will take time and effort on your part to fix the issue. You need to now constantly monitor your ph and stay very diligent on measuring the ph and then measuring the runoff to see how big of a swing you are having.
