Howdy Puffins !!!!

This is my 1st grow, Snow White in an ebb and flow/flood and drain system under a 430w Son Agro HPS...I use GH Flora nutes at a 1:2:3 ratio and a 12 hour light cycle...the lights are very close (6-8 inches) to the tops and I keep tying them down when they get close enuf to the lamp to burn...the pumps cycle is every 2 hours for 20 minutes while the lights are on...

my ladies are in week 5, and have grown about 35 inches tall...

I have seen pics of others grows and even toured a commercial operation in the Dam this past spring...

I think I must be doing something wrong...as compared to those I have seen, it seems like there are no primary buds on top, nothing at all like the fattys I see in the gallery here...the ladies are long and thin with lots of stems and lots of small buds all over them every couple inches...

Am I wrong to suspect a problem...

Are you growing sativa or indica?

yeh same problem here airy buds kind of is that what you got? im growing some sativa strain dont know what

I am growing Snow White, and the buds are much smaller than yours, lots of them, just very small...maybe I expect too much from this particular strain???

well, i don't know about the strain "snow white". Is it sativa or indica dominant? if it's sativa there's a reason why they're small, sativas take 10-14 weeks to mature out.

according to the description this strain is supposed to be harvested in 8-10 weesk and I am already on week 5... perhaps I am expecting them to fatten too early???

Is that a Nirvana Snow White?
I've read where some strains by Nirvana have that problem...mainly their X's.
I know TBG had that problem with Nirvanas Papaya.
but just noticed your in week 5.
With a HID those will fatten up quite a bit in the next week or so. It should have its last final stretch and gonna be in full bud production now. So patience is a must the final 3 weeks.
Flos unfortunatley don't have the penetration and unless you Scrog or LST/Prune your yeild will be less than what is expected.

Yeah, that's all i would think to be able to do. If you have them under correct lighting and what not, just wait, maybe they'll pop out in a stretch and thicken up and grow. With three weeks plants can do a lot, just may surprise you.

Yes Mutt, this is Nirvanna Snow White...Yes, PuffTheMagicDragon, just white hairs in 1 inch clumps...next grow I'm gonna try a Blue Misty or maybe a Haze...all depends how long these SW ladies take to finish...TY all for your comments....Grow ON !!!!

yeh im a first time grower aswell seems we both are wondering the same things and goin through the impatients cuz of sativas im def doin indica next grow top 44 i think from nirvana seeds

yes PuffTheMagicDragon, we share the same issues...I will try Blue Misty or maybe Haze or maybe even the Skunk#1 x Durban Poison I got with these Snow White beans...I saw some White Widow growing with the same setup I use and it was great, even ICE grew huge colas in the same set up...I think it may be the strain...time will tell...

I noticed I am at day 40 of flowering and also the buds are getting frosty...I wonder if early pruning would help in getting bigger buds...(I didnt prune these ladies at all) all along I have been tying them back to keep em lower...also, I think these show a more sativa-like pheno, with narrow leaves and longer internodal length...

ok, I harvested the 3 SW Ladies...yield was better than expected, as the buds started to really fatten in the last weeks dramatically...I think I may try for 10 weeks on the reveg...I'll post more on 12 weeks....

my first time growing....wondering when or how long does it take until the plants are ready to flower?

i have 6 2gallon white buckets, 2 4ft bulbs. fan...crawl space with 5ft vertical and 8ft horizontal growing space.

I didnt weigh it wet, but around 7 ounces dry...I cut it back for the reveg and got another ounce of sticky buds...
