I hope I'm not much of a bother on here...Now I have most everything understood about growing, harvesting curingetc. but I wanted to know how many plants to actually grow. I have 19 bagseeds, I know I won't plant them all. I would have to plant a bunch though to sex them. How much yeild should I expect from growing just ONE plant. Sorry I'm not good at explaining this. I basically want a very good amount and quality of plants, but don't want to plant too many to look suspicious/not being able to care for all those plants. Just a little guidance about how much 1 plant might yield as far as end product would be nice to know...Pictures would work too, thank you soo much

It's a common question from new growers. The answer is a little complicated.

You can grow 1 Low Ryder and get an ounce or two.

You can grow 1 non-auto flowering plant to only 2 feet tall and get 3 or 4 ounces.

You can grow 1 non-auto-flowering plant to 6 feet tall and get a half pound.

You can grow 1 non-auto-flowering plant to 10 feet tall and get a pound from it.

It's a matter of *how* you grow your plant. Soil, hydro, MH for vegging then HPS for flowering, max hydro nutes, organic nutes, the list goes on and on and on...

What are the dimensions of your grow room and what type of lights, nutrients and if soil, what type?

How tall can you let your plants grow?

How long do you want to take to harvest? 8 to 12 weeks is needed for flowering, no matter what type you grow.

Will you be topping, using LST?

Will you be using added CO2?

Sorry to be so evasive in answering, but there are way too many variables to pin down an amount from "1 plant".

Give us all an idea of what you plan to do and we can give you an idea of what to expect from your harvest, and how long it will take.

I'll be growing them outside, transplanting them from jiffy pots to 5gal pots. Using store bought soil, including LST, I was thnking of using some simple fert, haven't got farther than that in thinking yet...I'll be planting after the first frost around May, and harvesting when the trichromes are 50/50 couldy&amber, hopefully. I can go from the last frost to the first frost which might be in October or November depending on the weather... I live in NY so it varies greatly...I am building a "fort" type thing incase it does frost out, and it is TOO early to harvest to put them in to guard against the frost, just from OSB, and oddball pieces, nothing real elaborate.

An outside, container grown plant will produce about a half pound of cured weed if you max out it's nutrients. Using LST will allow you to have a shorter plant with more nodes and budding sites, but the buds will be smaller than if no LST was used. The same amount of weed will result from either method. It's a matter of how tall you want the plant to grow.

If you bump your container size to 10 gallons, the plant will produce more bud. It allows the plant to have a larger root field. If you use a really good quality nutrient, it also helps max out your yield.

Good luck to you man!

Thanks alot man! Nice sig btw..Can't wait to smoke a bag of canadian stuff I got tonight...

Hey fist time since its your first time just keep it simple and things will go a lot smoother. Slim

Hey first time, personally I'd get about 20 seeds started so you can sex them before may. I live in NY too and I've already got seedlings started so that I can get them sexed before may planting.

Gives me plenty of time to get my girls seperated from the boys and get them big and beefy for transplanting.
