i found a post about four months ago on how to rejuvinate potting soil. i cant seem to find it or anything similar again. can anyone point me in the right direction. it is Miracle Grow Moisture contol, used for one grow. i used 20-20-20 for the veg. and 15-35-15 for the flower, with seven four foot flourecent grow bulbs in a four foot square. should i try to rejuvinate the soil with some worm castings, bat poop, kelp etc. or dump it in the composter and start with new soil. the seed came from a friend so i dont know the pedigree. i think i am going to get about one ounce per plant, not what i had hoped for. any sugestions. thanks mick

you can flush the soil and add wormcastings, more perlite if needed, composted cow poo. i add compost to mine and let it sit a while with live worms, composted cow poo and anything else i can find to toss in. all my trimmings and dead leaves go it also.

thanks slomo. composting is not in the picture for me for about five months, winter just set in. i think i will read up on the posts you recomended and get some additives from the hydro store. mick

Here is how I refurbish my soil...I use Fox Farms Oceanic Forest soil and after a couple of grows the soil needs to be refreshed. I take the old soil and toss it into the wheelbarrow and add 1/4 of the volumn of the soil of worm castings, 1/8 of lime, 1/8 of bat guano. Then I water with H2O mixed with a cup of fulvic acid, a cup of humic acid, and add Earth Nectar (myco fungi) and Earth Ambrosia. I then allow this to sit for several months (no less than 3). Finally, I flush the soil, before using it to grow in, to rid the soil of excesses. This allows you to use the soil over and over. Anyone else do anything similar?

Peace...j.b.
