Hello everyone! I hope you can help me with my simple problem. I have 2 plants that have been grown outside, however the nights are starting to get cold so I'll have to bring them in soon. There is just so much info about lighting out there it's very confusing. I have a small dual fluorescent fixture that I thought I might put in 1 cool white light and 1 warm(red) one, if I can find the red one. I can't spend too much money so I thought this might be a cheaper way to go. The plants look like they are starting to flower so I'm thinking this combination of lights would be a good general lighting system. I would love some feedback on this or any other suggestions. Thanks

Cheap, yes, productive....not a chance!

You're gonna need real light to bud out a plant, how big of plant and what size grow area are you dealing with?

Not gonna work......first off bringing plants in from outdoors also brings pests along with them. Secondly if the nights ate getting cold why are you thinking of bringing them in and putting them under any light? They need the dark period to flower. If you did bring them in permanently and made a grow space you wld need 5000 lumens a sqr foot to flower with. Jmo

I would look into getting some of that netting screen that you see at home depot or lowes that stays over their plant section. Build a small "greenhouse" frame and cover it with that screen. That will allow it to get the sunlight and keep the cool night dew off of it. Don't try to bring it in at this point. You can't just get by with something cheap. you will lose all of the bud growth potential if it gets underlit.

Inside growing is very much an all or nothing deal. You either give it your all or you will get nothing in return. ;)

i agree with hush, ham, an roddy.

it's either all or nothin indoors.
that lil shop light will ruin your girl.
