quick HPS question

ok so im growing in my closet currently the temp with my 2 LED UFOs is around 80-88*. im going to finish out this grow with just the LEDs but im going to buy an HPS set up soon and was wondering in around 80-88* room what kind of temp increase on average would you say the HPS will give off... trying to get a figure what kind of temps these lights throw... ooh the system im looking at is a 600watt Digital HPS system and iv already got a plan in mind to keep the ballist out of my grow area to reduce the increase in temp.

Sounds like you will need an air cooled hood or cool tube if LED's have your temps near 90 at times. What kind of exhaust are you running now? Air exchange?

Digi ballasts don't put out that much heat--the heat comes from the bulb. I agree with HL that you are going to need an air cooled hood if your temps are like that with LEDs. It sounds as if you may not have enough air exchange going on.

well the LEDs dont put out like any heat at all, gotta get within 1/2-1 inch to get a 2 degree temp difference, its just how hot my closet is naturaly WITHOUT my bedroom window open for cooler air...
as for air exchange i just open my closet door every few hours or so and leave it halfway open at night, mainly wondering what the HPS's do throw in terms of temp... is it like 10* or way more?

Without air cooled hood its way hotter, your just going to have to have it.

No matter your lighting you need real air exchange in your grow.

well i just looked into some very well priced HPS set ups... everything i need except the air system, so ballist, bulb, socket from ballist to reflector, and reflector (cooled set up), for around $200, i just cant pass that up, gonna start saving and get that bad boy before my next grows flowering cycle.
