so i grew in oregon a while back, with a few buddies so it wasnt all on me, now it is, just sprouted, getting a 250 hps setup, only want about 3 plants, and i also m gonna get 2 stage specific cfls for supplemental lighting, however right now i have 5 14watt cfls about 6-8 inches from the plant. if i did my math right i should have about 7000 lumens there. Is that enough for the first 2 weeks till i can get a light?

should be ok you need roughly 100wts per plant using cfls,thats the lowest you really wanna go, but in switching to hps you should be fine untill you get set-up. GL

You should be able to bring those cfls in closer. How about putting them about two inches away, instead of 6-8 inches?

5000 lumens a square foot is what most shoot for...never mind how many plants for now...how big is the grow space?

right now its just ontop of a lil table in the living room with a crazy corner lamp with all lights directed down, im waiting for a lil something to come thru for some cash. struggling student trying to save money on my meds. ha. the grow space will be in the closet once i get the light about 2x3 and as tall as i can get the light hanging

So you shld shoot for 30000 lumens...you will want to paint the inside of the closet flat white or get some mylar...then there is the issue of ventilation that will need to be dealt with...

im not too worried about ventilation, my apt gets hella good ventilation, i can clear out a hotbox in about a minute, so its pretty legit, im just gonna keep a fan blowing on them and the box fans in the windows as exhaust fans, and i think the lil fan will dissipate the heat enough
