Hey, I live in northern California, aparantly one of the greatest outdoor spots to grow. Following good guidelines, last year i started at "late April early May". This year I want to do a great job, but wondering if anybody knows if I can possibly just start planting soon. Maybe like two weeks from now, because it never frosts in the morning anymore, and hardly ever rains...like 2 days every 2 or 3 weeks. But i was thinking of green housing it, so rain wouldn't matter that much anyways. And the sun has been heating us up well too. High 60's constantly.

If this couldn't work I would assume because of the daylight/darkness ratio...

PLEASE HELP!

there is always a possibility for frosts. perhaps you can check out a farmers almanac. it will give you a lot of info for outdoor growing, weather patterns, sun rise/ set info. you can usually find them at hardware stores

you want to be vert careful to not put em out to early when it stays above 50 your fine 40 and your grow will be slowed id wait til march to be on the safe side i am thought if it warmed up id put them out mid late feb but im just waitin till march 1 more month !!!!!!!!!!!

Daylight hours will be a big problem. I know how tempting it is, I have tried it myself, but unless you can supplement with additional lighting to extend the hours until the season gets under way .. . .

I dont recommend it dude. Im in central cal right now, where its warmer, and the nights are still way too cold. If you have an abundance of seeds, go for it. Maybe youll get lucky. But in the end I doubt it has any effect. Letting it go all summer will be plenty of time for veg. Just be patient, youll get there

i watch the other stuff thats growing andI you'se nature for a guide-line, i did some growing in CALIF. in the late 60s and early 70s before i got out, I was a gurrilla boat grower from xchecker (lake McClure) to commanche pardee hogans lakes up north near stockton,we never planted till mid to end of april and we did okay, caught alot of bass and catfish, i been away for 30 years but i've got a houseboat on lake oroville right now, man the waters low, I'm back and looking forward to april,

i have 5 going right now 4 inside and one outside for the fun of it it lol only time will tell if it lives lol yea if you got a bunch of seeds start a couple and put em outside if your bored like me lol they might make it might not

ya man im in the bay area and i leave all outdoor potted plants in shelter from the cold thru feb. i think if the plants are big enough and have a good root system you could put em out in march and flash light on them at night to make sure they dont start flowering, but this is if your transplanting.
i wouldnt start anything from seed this early

Cali... Im like 500 miles above you and I can almost already start growing.

In the southland it's a bit warmer, and it seems like a great time to start, It does get cold at night, but no frost. It is a risk though. Start them indoors and wait until they're about a foot or so, then put them outdoors. That way you'll be on the safe side.

Well Chronic I don't see any reason why u can't start alittle earlyer then Normal, because I have a Lonely plant that has gone through all of winter right now and has Been Frosted, Ice,Cold, but it real slow growing right now because of the cold and frost and with the warmer weather coming she going to Blast to the Moon..:hubba:
I had to move it to another spot before the dogs run over it and going to do a LSD along the ground to help hide her..
Here a Pix haven't learn how to chop and all still trying to learn..
Like i said she been growing since first of the yr.
Ops I didn't add the pix but here they r..
The first one was in my metal pyle and moved it and place in ground with potting soil mix with some dirt as u can see in the 2 Pix and have started some tomato's and will be planting them around MMJ plant.

well down here in south west i all ready got some sprouts that i just started growing, not tottly out doors in an out side storage room. got 2 100watt CFL's for vegging, they are about 2 weeks old doing great an growing good.
the temps drop to the low 40's high 30's (Night) been a wile since its gon below 32 but has happend since they been growing an they doing fine. the days get up to the mid 70's in the day. but in the shed its more like 55-60 in side the store room. no sunlight, an they are not thin walls.

once april comes around they going to be planted outdoors.
