We heard about it a lot, the most pessimistic were saying that oil is soon to end, many tales about peak oil and how the world population will drop because of it. And then there are the people who debunk it, by providing historical data about new oil drilling technologies and new oil field discoveries. I read and watched and listened, and to be honest, I am confused. Everything around us is in fact somehow reliant on oil, and in fact, alternative energy sources are very slow and have limitations. also to build things like windmills and solar panels, or nuclear plants, you are relying on oil. but then again, I believe in human ingenuity and they are now making things like this home sulfur battery that can power a house from wind and solar energy and I personally believe that in the next 50 or so years until the oil reserves are expected to perish, that humans would have this cracked. but then again, I think that years between 1990 and 2015 were a terribly slow quarter of a century in advancing energy technology. There are sciences yet to be uncovered, Nicolai Tesla predicted that we can get all the electric that we need from thin air and transport it in the ground, but he died, and there few geniuses like him and Einstein, and we need someone like that to crack these problems.
There's one link of the Apocalypse Man https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNVHbzlzUS8 Michael Ruppert, this guy eventually blew his brains out lol
and there's a blog called "oil peak debunked" http://peakoildebunked.blogspot.com/ there's some seriously funny stuff in there...

Thing Ppl better be worried about is not Oil,,,,ya better be concerning yourself with the most important thing in our lives,,,WATER.
MARK MY WORDS,,,WATER,,is gonna be a very very big deal,,very soon.

Good thing I have a well in my backyard.:fly:

can you back up this info with a link? I find it more unlikely than oil, maybe because i live in a water rich area and you're in Texas lol but i'm interested? to know, how on earth could water get depleted?

Zem, I also live in a water rich area, but I worry about water more than oil. And it doesn't have to be a drought in your backyard to have effects. When a large food producing states have droughts that affect food production, it is felt throughout the entire country. People will also move from drought stricken areas to places like you and I live, with a lot of water. Added demand and increased population will take a toll on any aquifer. My dad was worried about keeping our water in our state from the time I was a child. He taught us that the water we have on this earth was all we had--nature does not make "new" water--it just recycles it. So we had to take care of it and not waste it. And if we poisoned it, we would have it to use.

Yes Mam,,i agree. We dont have to have oil to live,,,water is a MUST. Water is the 1st sign of life.

Weedhopper, what are you going to run the farm equipment with?

most of the people are totally dependent on oil not only to run farms that produce food, but also to get it to the nearby supermarket. In fact, if oil suddenly stops coming in, the national reserve will hold a little short time, after which, famine, cops dont have fuel to enforce law, crime and lawlessness it's like a doomsday event, and no one argues that a sudden stopping of oil is devastating to mankind. the argument is whether this apocalyptic event is likely to occur or not. oil is estimated to perish in the next 50 years, this number is based on current levels of consumption, and does not take into account the possible innovations that might change or stretch that time. 50 years is not that long of a time, to solve such a challenging problem, and this has to happen way bfore all the oil finishes, in like 20-30 years or else it will be hard on our predecessors Still, I believe that humans are NOW very close to crack all this wide open. I have many doubts that it is the oil companies that are paying off or pressuring to stop the advancement in alternative energy sources

I have no doubt that we need oil to Have the things we have today.
I was just saying that you can Not stay alive without Water,,,,however,,,you can survive without oil,,,may not like it much,,but you would be alive.
Many places are running out of water. You might not be,,but lots of Ppl die from bad water everyday and its getting worse. Just because its not in yours are my Backyard doest mean its not a problem.I was in New Orleans not to long ago and several of their Parishes was having to boil water due to a Brain Eating Bacteria.
California has some real issues with water as does Nevada.
And of course we are dependant on oil,,,as we are Technology, ,,but again,,,we needs clean water to Survive. So i am more concerned about water , cause i like to drink it.

to keep 7 billion people fed you need to use machinery that needs oil or else the many living mostly in cities would die from famine because they have no food. even rural areas with no water will suffer if electric power stops. the chaos and lawlessness alone would cause massive deaths. it would really be an apocalyptic event that would devastate humanity as we know it. Anyway, i don't believe that this could happen before humans solve it by innovation and science. I believe what Tesla said, that one day we will produce as much electric power as we need from thin air, static energy, and we could transport it through the ground. he sounded crazy but proved to be genius time and again, so why not be right on this one? there are many ideas that can change the world and i believe that we are closer than we thought, i think in the next 15 years energy will be more available and more clean, more grow ops more weed :D

Well i for one,,,needs my oil cause i likey TCM. im watching it right now. Lol

If we run out of oil, we will not keep 7 billion people alive, but some will survive. Horses, cows, bulls, mules, ect can still pull a plow. If we run out of water, there will be no fields to worry about plowing.

Tesla was a great genius who got screwed over royally by Edison and others.
