This is my first post here at marijuanapassion and im hopeing I can learn some things. Im sorta uneducated when it comes to growing anything, let alone marijuana, so hopefully someone can help me along the way. Here is the backround info on my new green children.

My girlfriends grandma gave her a few tomato growing kits. The kits included a small pot, a wafer(of sorts) of soil...in which you soak and it expands, and a small bag of tomato plant seeds. So I followed the simple instructions and planted the seeds....and soon enough...I had a bunch of small tomato plants growing in my windowsill.
So i figured...if it works with tomotos so well why not with marijuana?
I got a few seeds from a buddy of mine with a medical card, and just out of curiousity I planted 3 seeds with the tomato growing kit...and sure enough quickly all 3 seeds had sprouted. I was very excited about this and still am. They are now 12 days old and about 3.5inches high(i included a few pics so you can get a better idea) and growing strong(as far as i can tell).

SO the problem is now...i know i need to transplant them as possible.

Question 1) Being that there is 3 plants in one very small pot, do i try to separate them into 3 separate pots? and is this dangerous? will they be more likely to die since i am digging them out individually rather than taking the entire bunch of soil and repotting?

Question 2) Since ive used this generic soil, although it seems to work well.... will it be a problem mixing with the new soil i buy for the larger pots?

Question 3) My plants have been growing in the kitchen windowsill, and i need to relocate them soon as they are starting to get leafy and may be obvious to neighbors, not to mention the new pots will be too big. So, will it be better to grow them outdoors since they are used to natural sunlight? or with artificial lighting indoors?
my issue with growing them outside is that my landlord and lawnman may find them and a problem may ensue. but if if necessary i can prob manage to hide them.

thanks for any advice/help i reeeeally appreciate it!

Yep, I'd get them out of that pot ASAP. Your best bet is to pop them out of the pot, and rinse it under a tap. Try to wash as much of the soil away as possible, and then gently (emphasis on gently) pull them apart. If you are careful, they will be ok.

You should have no problems potting into larger pots with different soil (if using mg soil be careful as it can burn young plants). Mix some perlite into your soil mix. This improves drainage and ensures that the roots have more oxygen. Water logged roots will cause problems.

There will be no problem growing outside or indoors under artificial light.
If you have any worries at all about them being discovered outside get some indoor lighting. Better safe than sorry.

(1) Okay, first off, replanting those plants.

what are you going to do, indoor grow, or outdoor grow? Since you're in the outdoor grow and are talkin about ouside i assume outdoor. Since you're going to grow them outside, i'd say go ahead and put them in the ground, it's best off and less painfull for the plants in the long run. Just take the whole lot of soil out of the pot, and separate the three plants carefully without breaking the roots.

Before doing that, make surre you have a nice place set out for where you can have your plants hidden but get a good ammount of direct sunlight (8-12 hours is great but doesn't necasarily have to be that much). Get your soil and mix it in the ground. I recommend using some cow manure in the mix. Cow manure has a lot of nitrogen which is the best thingg for the plants vegitative state.

Mix it in the areas you decide to plant your plants. Poke your hole in the dirt and bury the plants prolly an eigth of an inch past what they were before just so that the root is in the ground nicely. they should ggrow great and as fast as possible since they can't get root bound.

(2) There will be no problem with the soil mixture change, the only thing that can happen is the plants get better comfort in the new soil that's better. I recommend getting decent soil with moisture locking stuff or whatever. lol.

(3) Okay i would say grow outside, natural light is better than artificial light. You should grow off your land iff possible in a secure location, but if not grow somewhere where no one will find it lol. umm but if you're worried about you land lord or lawn guy, i wouldn't plant in your back yard, at least off somewhere.

good start man, like to see them grow up.

There it is, PROOF tomatoes are a gateway to harder drugs.

Just my experience, but if there are 2 in one pot, I'd rather be sure 1 lives than pull than traumatize them both. I just pick the best plant & lop the other one off at root level. Then use a round ended knife & insert it between the soil and pot all the way around. Turn the pot over in your palm, plant stem poking down through your fingers, tap the plant out. If it's stuck & there's a drainage hole in the bottom, use your index finger to give it a push.

Set the free plant into the new pot, filled with soil up to the level needed, then fill in. Lightly bounce the new pot to settle the soil in, then water thoroughly.

yeah i thought about doing that... but then what if i end up killin 2 females and the one i save ends up male...that would be ******. haha i think im just gonna try to replant all 3 in individual pots and see what happens.... im only a short way into the grow process, and i figure if they die i can start over. now or never. thanks for all the help

Runbyhemp i did that also, but i found it easier to soak them first in bucket half full of water and slowly agitate seconds at a time, just the roots, most of the time, it got the big chunks out without me having to spray it with water which i think helped in their recovery time, the first time i did that i saw change in growth the next day with 18/6 cycle, so the shock of transplanting went quick.
I also went from MG 3month feed to Organic MJ with added sand and styrofoamd grains..
