i can post pictures if you guys are interested.
i began an OG Kush plant from a bag seed in late march.
i recently purchased a scope from radioshack to check my trichs.
while i was thinking about all the ways people dry their bud, i realized for quicker results, just raise the temp.
well, i've had one of these (goto "made-in-china" dot com and search "CW8-4L". second result.) for a while which i used to actually store purchased bud in, because it could keep it cool and thus fresher, longer. anyway, this unit also "warms" to '65*C +/- 10*C', which is way lower than THCs vap pt. so i left a bud in last night.
checked it this morning. nice and dry, no trich damage (checked with the scope).
what do you guys think of this method?

not really a fan of quick drys.
i actually even hate it when it's too warm out and my bud drys too fast just hanging. i find it looks worse, smells worse, and even tastes a bit off.
i mean it still smokes, but it bums me out to know what it coud've been.
that's just my opinion.. if you needed a quick toke, great. but i'd try to be a little more patient.

:yeahthat:

Im definately no expert, but I would say if it works and your happy with the results.... do it bra !

I believe the concept behing slow drying/curing, is to get more plant chemicals to "do their thing" than just to remove the moisture. There are sugars and chlorophyll and other things in the plant matter than can affect the taste and the smooth. Allowing a slow dry will allow some of these things to break down more in their natural processes.

Just my take on the topic. I gotta agree with:

so, just an update. the buds i dried with the "warmer" ended up losing a ton of smell, and they used to smell delicious. the buds that i haven't put in the warmer are still nice and smelly, so im gunna stick with the hanging in the closet method for the rest of them. thanks for all the input.

I wouldnt mind seein some pics of that OG Kush ya got there....have a seed im thinkin about sowin for a mother...

I grow inside but dry outside at the equator line buds are ready in
5 days and i loved them. I also let cure at least and notice the improvement
throught the way!
