I've been reading all I possibly can while collecting materials (tight budget), will be building my cabinet this weekend (2' x 2' x5'). My plan is a 1.75 x 1.75 S.C.R.O.G. 2 plants hydro (dwc) 150 watt HPS, for ventilation I'm going to use a holmes air purifier mounted on top with intake vents in the bottom pulling air through my reflector. I'm thinking about White Widow from Nirvana, looking for a more uplifting high without to much couchlock. My questions are 1. are feminized seeds worth the extra money? 2. Is there any difference between 150watt medium base and mogul base as far as light or heat output? (I can get either one from work) 3. What have other people grown scrog style with good results? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

try a different strain for your first time.
just my opinion but White widow is a sensitive strain.
Youll most likely have less problems with an easier strain first.

feminized seeds are created from a hermaphrodite mother.
I would stay away from femmed seeds as the hermie rate would likely be higher, again, this is controversial amongst growers, but a true female cannot be obtained from femmed seeds, its genetic.
my opinion, stick with regular seeds, not hermie derivatives.
skunk1 from sensi seeds would be a good first grow, and the smell is so fragrant like rotting fruit, it responds well to nutes and isnt too fussy.
I love it! and you would too, good mix of high. and its pretty cheap, a little diamond in the rough if you ask me. but hey, what do i know.

Sounds like your grow is similar to the scrog I did. I did a scrog with 2 Satori that turned out pretty good. You can check my sig for pictures and stuff

I think the mogul base throws off more heat than the medium. Havent actually done "solid" research on this though.
Hey there hemp goddess it should sound similar because thats exactly what I'm doing! It was your diy scrog that got me motivated to try to grow my own. I do have a question, can I get by with 3.5" net pots, looks like yours are about 5"

Since the height is controlled in a scrog and roots have plenty of room to grow with a DWC, you will be fine with the 3.5" pots. I sometimes take plants all the way through flowering in 3" pots. It all depends on how tall they get.
