Nirvana Kush and Afghan Grow, 1st time grower

Hi to all the MP members. I am a first time grower and would appreciate any help, suggestions and or criticisms. Havnt smoked in two months but waiting for my first harvest to smoke, cant wait:woohoo:
I have 6 Nirvana Kush and 2 Nirvana Skunk x Haze in germ mode. Using wet toilet paper method in plastice bag. SO far 5 of 6 Kush has sprouted and no luck with the skunk mix just yet.

Veg
Lights: 2 4' t12 fluoros 6500K 2325 lumes each bulb. 65 w Fluorex CFL 6500K 6,800 lumes
Soil: FF Ocean FOrest
Nutes: Botanicare Pure Blend and Liquid Karma.
Lights on 24hrs as well as fan. Theyre all in 3qt pots until further need. Ph is at 6.
Dimensions - 3.5' x 1'

I also have 3 afghans from a BC seedbank which I cant remember the name of. The afghans were started about 3 weeks before germination of my Nirvana seeds and have been under my 400w HPS for the first three weeks. I decided to buy fluors and Cfl b/c it was getting way too hot in my closet, although i have a fan blowing 24/7.
Ill post pics up as soon as they peep out of the soil.

Sounds good. We would love to see some pics as soon as they start showing themselves. Do you have an exhaust and an intake bringing fresh air into your grow area? If not, you may want to consider it. The more light you can get in there, the better. Fresh air is also a must to achieve healthy growth. Keep us posted. Take care and be safe.

This is a closet grow, dimensions 2' 6' so I am not utilizing the whole area. I guess when i said above Dimensions - 3.5' x 1', I meant the actual space consumed by the plants itself. It is a sliding door closet and both side are open. The fan kept on one extreme end of the closet keeps the air moving, I can feel the air coming out on the other side of the closet which the fan blows towards.
Hopefully the pics clarify. Do you think that is sufficient?
I am planning to either add another set of t12 fluoros or another CFL, soon. Also, ALL my lights are 6500k. SHould my next cfl/fluoro be at the lower/red end for veg to optimize results and growth?

Both my SKunkxHaze have germed and placed in soil.
3of6 Kush have popped up out of soil. I need MORE light! Planning to get a bathrm fixture with 3 CFLs in them. SHould I put a light with red spectrum in there?

Oh I have not had the pleasure of growing it myself but I definitely have had my share of the family. Its some of the most spicy, flavorful, pungent herb there is in my opinion. It has a narcotic high almost. Very relaxing on a lazy afternoon. I think you will be hooked once you smell that smell(ooooo that smell). Best of luck to you my man.

The kush I grew had a very earthy, hashy taste to it. Very heavy high.

My seedlings are coming along well, healthy and growing.
Pics 1&2 are the biggest of my Kush plants. 3rd one one is afghan which has shown its sex. Its really small so im going ot keep it under veg till my others are ready to flower.

our skunk haze plants are about the same age,your might be a few days older but im very interested to see how this come out.these will be my somewhat test run for my 5 strain grow im bout to start in july.im keepin my skunk haze in plastic throw away cups.kinda like the 2 oz shot glass grow =) im expectin a whoppin 5 grams n all =) wheres your pics of the skunk x haze bro? I'm pullin up a chair with bag and blunt sticks in hand.thanks for startin the thread-peace

Thanks guys, appreciate the support. The kush are growing fast and have broad leaves. Theyre fan leaves are going to be huge by bloom time.

Tater I will definitely write a smoke report, Ill be kushed out before I do so. How is Master Kush better than OG?

Aurora why are you doing shot glass grows? You dont expect much from the strain? WHich other strains you got going?
Theres a pic of skunkxhaze....its the biggest one yet slowest growing in comparison to my Kush. Searching for others who have this strain as well, no results though. I enjoy smoking haze, the high and flavor is distinct, cant wait! RoLl Up rOlL uP~!!!

lookin good.the reason for me doin a grow in this manner is because im growin em,just to learn my teqs and to make sure im suppercropping,LSTin,and FIMing right before i start the main event,which will be mandala kalichokra,nirvana white widow,four way,jock horror, and aurora indica. i should have that grow goin by mid july. i've been doin preparations for the past 3 or 4 months.anyways,i'll be checkin on how they do.the kush,but also this skunk x haze.i heard it took forever to finish this strain but screw it... Lets Get it!!! =)

Yea i hear bloom can be over 10 weeks if you really want it to be mature when you pluck the buds. This is a learning process for me too, I just prefer large quantities Mandala has some really quality seeds, gl with that strain. Nirv white widow is my next selection as well, along with Maui Waui. Have you started a thread?

I returned my 65 w fluorex and bought 10 26 w CFLs 6500K spectrum. Thisll disperse the light more evenly since they will be getting bigger soon.
ALso keeping two of my kush plants out in the sun during day to see how growth will be affected.
Thinking about building a veg box with mylar inlined, fans and the whole bit - when i get the time.

i actually havent started my journal for my "main event" i'll be startin it soon.im gonna have alot of useful info in it as well.i've been preppin for the grow for 4 months now.i've put in hours and hours everyday to basically engulf my brain with knowledge,plus the stuff i know from growin all these yrs.
The kalichokra with be a strain i'll definitly have to supercrop,they triple during the flowering process.im actually growing this strain because i have tendonitous and ligimentitous in my ankle and the strains suppose to be good for pain and depression.it took me 3 months to decide my line up of strains.im just growin this skunkxhaze in these throwaway cups because i'm usin what i got and since im gonna be growin so many,im am,but im also not that worried about how much i yield.its just to get my supercropping,FIMing,and LSTin teqs down pat.be on the look out for that journal..should be good..actually,it better be good.with all the hours of reading and months of preparation that have gone into the grow as a whole.i'll be growin with nirvana this time around,but im thinking about doin an all next generation strain grow next.(doc sells some of their beans) i'm just startin out with the most offordable beans first.im investin around
$1300usd into the grow so im not left with enough money to do the $200 per pack beans yet.we'll see though-peace

I read the brief on Kalich, sounds like it would work out ofr you perfectly. Well, if I had to say I think MJ in general would work!
$1300 is a whole lot to invest in, are you doing a hydro grow? I know doc has good beans but whats wrong with Nirvana beans?

Leaving my babies out in the sun is no good. AFter 2 1/2 hrs out there they were scorched, limp and burnt. NEVER again will I leave them out there again. Back to CFL chamber...lol
