I have two plants growing of an unknown strain, it has been one week since germination, plants are in a 1.25 gal pail with outdoor topsoil. Lighting is 16 on 8 off via 1 100 watt incandescent(all i can afford for now). Light is 8 inches above plant. I've been watering from a spray bottle with a boiled stem solution. As they are only 1 week old i've yet to give them any nutes. Temperature is 80~. I know that i'll need a better lighting system real soon (yesterday lol). Right now I'm just looking for your educational experienced opinions on whether these are doing ok and/or what i need to do to rectify the situation. For the record yes this is my first attempt :)

Well as time has went on the plant closest to the black dart has started falling over, i am now having to prop it up straight all the time or it just tumbles on to its side, is there anyway i can save it or just focus on the other one, is it safe to trim it down so it would be more stable? Please advise

The two primary causes of that type of stretching, is lack of or incorrect spectrum of light,... and lack of circulating air.
To get you started,.. get yourself a cpl of cfl's and get a fan blowing air across them. Not a gale force wind, but enough to make them sway in the breeze.

Well firstly I would like to thank you Hick for the insight. I now have an enclosure built, tinfoiled and i've installed two cfl 100w lights, the plants have been transplanted into a new pot with Scotts potting soil. The one in the picture against the dart finally toppled over completely so I've taken the risk and cut the stem in half and replanted it, (will that work?). The other seems to be doing quite well as the leaves have doubled in size over the last couple days. Does anyone know how to wire a computer fan into the enclosure or another suggestion as to what could be used, the enclosure is not big enough for a regular fan, Thanks all, i'll keep you posted with pics as time goes on

Hi there. The plant that you cut will most likely die. If you have any seeds, you may as well germinate them now. Having only one plant will come to bite you in the butt later on if it turns out to be a male...which is totally worthless for smoking. I would start with at least 5 plants so you're guaranteed 1 female in the batch.

How big is your growbox? You can wire computer fans into your growbox. Look in the DIY forum and there is a great thread that will show you step-by-step on how to wire a computer fan. Make sure to take advantage of all the great information that is here on this website. It will definitely help you along the way with most of the basic information. Read, read, read!! Take care and be safe.
