Well, I've been reading around AFTER (Yes after. I'm and *****....) ..... after buying and already receiving my Pineapple Chunk, and it seems to be extremely stretchy (I was warned of that here) and that Barneys lied quite a bit with the 55 day flowering bit. Everyone's grow journal is showing that they take 75-95 days to start having pistols recede and trichs to show an amber one.

I'm wondering if I should start with my 2 freebies.. or maybe even 2 freebies and 1 PC. When I do the PC I'll be only doing 4 out of the 5 for my 4x4 tent, 600W HPS with scrog anyways. Did a bit of reading on my 2 freebies ("Cluster" and "Blue Lemon Thai") and it seems these finish in 50-60 days and are shorter plants....

What would you do? You just got 5 Pineapple Chunk seeds in the mail with 1 Cluster seed and 1 Blue Lemon Thai. You're experienced but if you weren't and wanted to do your first.. what would you start with?

I thought the choice was easy at first, but now I'm not so sure.

EllisD,why not start a poll and have the peeps here at MP choose it for ya.My choice would be the BLT.

Thank you, poll is open! :)

So you would do 1 BLT + 1 Cluster?

I personally would run 2 PC and the 2 freebies. But if you are not an experienced grower, the different needs of the plants could put you in a tail-spin. You are better off to work with one strain at a time until you know how to best work that strain. Not only that but my experience with freebies has been more failure to launch than successful growing plants. :)

I voted all the same for your first grow out. Then they should be the same size and need about the same amount of nutrients. It will be easier then learning about three different strains. Jmo. Green mojo!

Hello :ciao:

I'd go with 2 pineapple chunk and 2 freebies. One tip I'd give though is if these are your only quality breeder beans, practice germinating with some free bag seed first if possible. Growing from seed isn't difficult but there is a certain mojo I've found to the skills required and practice makes perfect. :beatnik:

I grow mainly from cuttings so sometimes it can be a long period of time between popping any beans around here. I'll sometimes pop some bagseed or other free beans so that my chops are up for the high dollar seeds. Once in the early 90s:headbang2: when i was a newb to growing I brought back some seeds from a vacation in Amsterdam. I over watered my babies and killed most of them. And this was before there were mail order seeds available. I've found the more practice and experience you have the better feel you get for things and your chances of success greatly increase. :joint:

Happy Growing! :lama:

I'm with Rosebud--I would run all one strain to get at least a feel for what you are doing. I just think one strain will be easier. I would be a little surprised if the Thai did not stretch some, too.

We will help you with some growing techniques as you need them--supercropping, lst, fim, etc. Also, virtually all the breeders underestimate the amount of time it takes to finish. There are few strains that are going to finish in under 8-9 weeks, especially if you are looking for amber trichs.

Yeah, this is all really answering my thoughts ... plus.. I want to scrog, so yeah I should just keep em the same. I'm going to be topping and LSTing (veg) for sure.. not sure if I should FIM or not? Or even FIM and not Top? or TOP and FIM? Heck! lol

Thank you all for your thoughts! :)

topping and lst should make some nice yielding plants. the only time FIM is when I need the plants to fill out more around the bottom. supercropping works too but adds another 3 weeks to the veg time for recovery and results, so i dont like to do it!

HB and me are on the same wavelength. FIM is for creating bushier plants and is best used on older plants ad/or sexually mature plants that have alternating nodes. Topping initially would be the best so that you will get twin trunks as they grow. Then you could top again on each twin to create a quad that could be spread in different directions for scrog. If you do scrog then LST isn't really needed as you will be training the branches below a screen anyway. Supercropping is really for doing a harder version of LST and/or for slowing the upward growth. I doubt you would use that much in scrog. :)

Well, I will be the dissenting opinion. If you are wanting to scrog, I would be for fimming. IMO, it is less stressful than topping but gives almost the same results.

I believe I will top once at the start when safe and fim maybe twice? Sound about right? Top to split main trunk 2 ways then FIM for 2-4 points after that? Then into the scrog? I'm thinking that's the idea.. :D

sounds good, its all about trial and error. if it works then run with it!
