so Ive been fine on the temps until now. My grow box is in the garage. Temps are usually 85 day and 78-80 night. Recently my area has had temps of about 95, with heat index 106. My grow box has been a steady 95 for 2 days,,,, how long before i should get really worried, it might be a week or so before the temp goes down....

If I need to go get AC i will......

Is the temperature in your garage also 95, or is it cooler? If it is cooler, you could increase the airflow through the box.

If not, then an alternate means of cooling might be necessary.

yes the temp is around 95.....

my plant shows no stress to the new growth after her other issues. I was just wandering if all I had to worry about for a week or so until the temp goes down again was her growth slowing? shes not crisping up or anything....

Unfortunatly my temps are around 93 on average when lights on, about 85 with them off. I'm on the top floor so the room gets pretty hot, so I'm kinda out of luck for another month or two.

My plants are fine IMO, and are growing great with no signs of heat stress, though I'm sure lower temps would be more beneficial. A least I ways have the air moving 24/7. Additionally, I run the 12 hours lights on from about 7pm to 7am, cause it's a little cooler than running them in the daytime when the ambient temps are higher.

You should be fine, just keep the air moving. Keep an eye on them too.

Good luck, and be well.

Root temperatures are much more important than above ground temps. Above ground temps can be countered by using deeper/larger root areas.

Using a lighter media that drains and aerates well will enable more frequent watering with cooler water resulting in the root mass being kept at optimal temperatures for plant growth.

70F-75F is the ideal temperature for the roots. If the above ground temperatures exceed 90 degrees without an offset temperature within the root mass, then much slower growth can be expected with most MJ strains. A very effective manner to counter the above ground temps is to lower the root mass temps. Within reason, this will allow the plant to continue growing at it's best.

The root mass temps must NEVER be lowered beyond 65F. Do do so would negate any benefits and slow the plant growth the same as too high of temps above ground will do.

For example; 100F above ground temps can be counted by using 65F root temps. The results will be the same as if the above ground temps were at 90 and the roots at 75.

If the root temps are allowed to rise above 75F, growth starts slowing in a relational ratio to that heat gain. The same is true of above ground temps above 90F.

my temps run on the hot side also.. sometimes they drop down as low as 69 but for the most part they are in the 80s with lights off and 90s with lights on..

My last crop i had a few nights in a row where i was not home when they lights came on... therefor all the heat was trapd in my box for an hour or so each time... this happend about midway thru flower... it burnd the tops of the tallest buds but everything lookd fine other than that.. so when i cut everything down and started going thru tha bud i found parts of bud that were not smokable.. donno what it was really but some of the bud was dark brown or almost black, it lookd kind of like it had spider webs on it... i think some kind of mold or something.. not exactly sure... so id say your prolly good as long as you dont expose the bud to extreame heat (120+ like i did)

Well the box got to 95 degrees at its highest point. After sweltering wether we are getting a break, todays temp is a good 85 outside, with my garage being lower, my box is alot cooler than yesterday. I hope it gives me a few days to get some more fans, because its actually hotter in my box than the ambient temp of the garage....I also removed 2 of my lights,,,,any little bit helps right?

A temperature probe for the soil would be a very good investment for you. Track it to see what it is at the rooms hottest times. Put the probe into the outside third and the middle of the container each measurement.

With container grows, the outside of the containers get way too warm if they're too small. In a hot environment, I would suggest using the largest container you can fit into your grow area. It'll keep the root temps good and also balance the moisture better. Larger containers in soil grows usually mean faster growing and bigger plants. You can prove this to yourself with a side by side grow using 10 gallon, 8 gallon and 5 gallon containers for the same strain and very close to each other. Feed, trim and water each identically. The plant in the largest container will outgrow the other two and the 8 will outgrow the 5.

Good luck to you!
