IMO you should run the light 24/0 on mothers and any plants you are vegging

I keep my mothers with fresh cut clones under a 4 ft floro, 24 hrs a day. Once clones have rooted I put them in my veg cabinet with 24 hr light

I run mothers and clones under 18/6, also with 4ft floro.

It's just personal preference, one is not better than the other, so, what ever you are comfortable with.
