I buy 2 ounce or 4 ounce screw on tins they have them on amazon. The first ones I bought were amber glass jars but they were like a dollar or more a jar. The tins are cheap. I like the 4 ounce better but get 2 ounce in a pinch@MariJan, what are you using for containers? My first batch used up what I had laying around. I need something appropriately sized and light proof.
You inspired me tonight Jan to try salve again. My first two batches were ok but not great.I changed the recipe slightly. It was hard to get out of the container so I cut the wax to 1 cup.
This is my updated recipe
1 1/3 C coconut infused canna oil
1/3 C caster oil black if you can get it
(Extra Virgin Olive Oil can be substituted)
1 C bees wax ( soy wax for vegan)
1-2 Tbs essential oil lemon works best
( make sure its skin grade )
Vit E oil 1 tbs
Using a double boiler melt the wax completely.
Turn off double boiler for the rest.
Add the caster and vit e oils mix well.
Add essential oil.
Poor into light proof containers
They will get solid quickly so be ready with the light proof containers.
Good luck with the lavender essential oils the cannabis oil just overpowers it. eucalyptus and lemon work the best. The lecithin I have bought it for my gummies so I could add it. But I have not had a problem with loosing potency. You inspired me tonight Jan to try salve again. My first two batches were ok but not great.
I am following most of your recipe with the ingredients I have on hand except I am using coconut oil, lavender oil and shea butter in place of the vitamin e oil. Interesting enough, there is one additional ingredient that you might want to consider adding. My Magic Butter machine recommends adding 1T lecithin to improve “bioavailability of the cannabanoids”
Here’s a little more research on lecithin.

I used peppermint essential oil, it covers it up easily and leaves a little tingle, at least in my suggest-able mind.Good luck with the lavender essential oils the cannabis oil just overpowers it. eucalyptus and lemon work the best. Thanks MariJan! I just ordered some lemon oil and I’ll wait to finish making my salve.Good luck with the lavender essential oils the cannabis oil just overpowers it. eucalyptus and lemon work the best. I will try that. I like and know what you mean with the tingle you get with peppermint oil. Good suggestionI used peppermint essential oil, it covers it up easily and leaves a little tingle, at least in my suggest-able mind.
I use the infused coconut oil. I tried with the alcohol tincture but it cooked into hash. I have a decent recipe. The oil measurement is way wrong but everything else was on point. I just adjusted the oil and lecithin up same increments. The ones I mailed to Washington work fine I used 4 tbs of infused oil but it was a double batch. I bought the big box of jello. It makes about 160 gummies. He said he uses 2 and sleeps like a baby. They suggested 1 tsp. I made the regular recipe and I have to eat like 4-5 to get a decent effectiveness. Then I tried 2 tbs. I need to eat 2-3. Next time I am going to use 3 tbs and see. Thanks MariJan! I just ordered some lemon oil and I’ll wait to finish making my salve.
If you don’t mind me asking, do you use an infused oil or infused alcohol to make your gummies? Thats another one that I’ve never figured out.

https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Weed-Gummies This us the recipe I use Just up the cannabis infused oil and lecithin equal amounts of both. I will be using 3 tbs of each . You can use 1/4 cup of each. Remember I make a double recipe which gives 160 or so gummies. I also use fruit juice instead of waterView attachment 364949View attachment 364950
This cannabis salve recipe sounds amazing! I really like how you’ve customized it to boost its effectiveness, especially by using oils and focusing on bud for better potency. It’s great to hear how much relief it’s brought your dad—that's really impressive!https://homesteadandchill.com/how-to-make-cannabis-salve/
This is the base recipe I use.
I have made a few changes.
1. Instead of EVOO (extra virgin Olive Oil) I use black caster oil. Regular caster oil works too if you can’t find Black caster oil.
2. I Use bud not trim. You can use trim but your salve will not work as well or be as potent.
3. Rubbing it in is key to getting relief.
The longer you rub it in the faster it works.
4. Eucalyptus or Lemon essential oil hides the smell of the cannabis better than lavender. I thought lavender would help sleeping. It does not even work at all so don't by lavender. My fav is lemon.
5. triple the amount of wax. Less wax equals oilier ointment.
6. To make it vegan just substitute soy wax for bees wax. Bees wax version is smother.
Sox wax is a bit gritty but rubs in good. Your skin will melt the grittiness.
Feel free to chime in if you have tried it.
I will do my best to answer any questions.
It works on pain, inflammation, psoriases, dermatitis, skin cancer cells, eczema, fungal infections, neuropathy,.. this is what I have tried it on.
I started making it for dad. He was on 10 mg of hydrocodone/acetaminophen. Dad is almost 88 he is no longer taking opioids. He only uses the canna salve for pain. No side effects other than smell which fades in 10-20 minutes.
Yes I tweaked it several times over the first few months to get a decent recipe. 99% of people that have tried it get some relief. It does work better on sone than others. A few have said it takes the edge off at least. Only one person said it did nothing for them. Most people get some type of relief. Several think it’s the bees knees. It works on Dad that it what I was going for. This cannabis salve recipe sounds amazing!
