So I'm sitting here smoking my last bowl for a while..

It's interfering with my studies, so I'm giving it up until the semester is over. The first day is always the worse, but 10 weeks is a long time. It will be worth it.

Anyone else struggling to hold back for their own good?

dude more power to you...personally i find that mj helps me tremendously in studying and schoolwork...definately is better to stop though if you cant concentrate

Stopping because of some cold/flu/bronchitis like symptoms..

Bubby- in the grand scheme of things, quitting pot for 10 weeks is nothing. A good education will last a lifetime. You're doing the right thing. :) Good luck!

Good luck bro, but honestly I dont think I could stop smoking bud its just that much part of my life.

^^I used to say the same thing.I wanted to stop soo bad sometimes but it just used to end up happening>smoking weed cuz there's nothing to do or just plain ol' boredom or friends. When I got bronchitis for the first time, it was kinda cool cuz I had a reason not to smoke and I kinda liked it..not smoking that is.lol

MJ is NOT addictive. It is good to clear the head out every now and then. Makes the buzz much better when you start back.

SmokingMom said it all. Good luck dude.

I don't 100% agree with it not being addictive.I think that anything is addictive>it's up to the user

hehe...I think about this everyday. I'm blessed with my family and the life I live. So why in the world do I want to smoke this illegal substance all the time and risk losing all these wonderful blessings? and I sort of agree with Caribean a little bit, in that I almost like myself better when I don't smoke, yet I can't imagine not smoking...so WTF??? I'm gonna go do a bong hit. Later.

I have to 100% agree my friend.

The whole deal is, you dont Have to have it nor will you ever develop an addictive need for it, you just want to have it. Its all in your head, you will be bummed out cause your not getting high and would like to. I tell you that after just 4 weeks of being straight, you will not remember what you liked about it but will remember you liked it. Its like being addicted to ice cream.

Couldn't have said it any better. Get your education, get you a job, and the weed will be here when ya get back. :aok:

i'm with you on that ....it may not be physically addictive...but when it becomes a part of everyday life it then becomes habit (and a mental addiction maybe?) and habits...good or bad...are hard to break

good job on knowing what is the right thing to do Bubby...as that SmokinHotMom said....your education wil last a lifetime

Thanks for all the support!

First day is over, so the rest should be a breeze.
I have to say that it's sort of scary to feel your mind clear up. I already feel sharper, and generally more awake/aware. It's a real shame that I tend to overdo it whenever I acquire some decent bud.
I have a history of getting carried away (smoking everyday) for a few weeks, then going cold turkey for several months. This probably has a lot to do with personal issues, but I won't delve into that. Frankly, it pisses me off that my relationship with mj is often unhealthy. To me, it's one of the greater joys of life.

No more abuse!
