You’re getting a nice deep controlled canopy. Good job.
I appreciate your advice on flipping to 12/12 and not a minute too soon. I am still closer to the light than I wanted and will be moving it up my last 4 inches soon which should prevent burns. I have also started bending one of my larger colas away from the light just a little a day.

I should have a 4x4 tent next grow with some type of light mover for my 230 watt light for an interesting experiment and an additional 8 inches of overhead. I plan on keeping the scrog 9 to 12 inches max.

Man you'll be dangerous in a 4x4.

Great time of the year to find a new lamp with all this black Friday stuff going on.

I'm using this exact lamp in my 4x4. Still only gives 25w psqft but I've grown a lot of weed with it in that space.

I would but I did budget $25 a month for recurring expense on this project. I am super curious if I can make that light rail into something different than what it was designed for in which case I stay within my budget but produce the results of a 400 watt light.

By my calculations the 400 watt light will cost me $50 a month to run

Regardless it intrigues me to see if I can. I consider it a worthy experiment with a great odds of working.

I decided to move my time lapse camera last night since it wound up in a position that doesn’t view the entire canopy. In the right corner is the Ice Princess the far corner is the Skunk#1 and below the camera is now the C99xPurple Urkle. The left corner is a mix of the Ice and Skunk as it was trained that way.

Ok so my 4x4 tent arrives today and I have been running the first part of my light mover experiment for 3 days. I just grabbed some scrap wood and set the rail on a 2x4 for now temporally on my work bench. What I have done is I bought a timer that allows timing to the second. For this I just have it running 10 seconds on and 10 seconds off. 10 seconds smoothly moves it 6.5 inches then it stops for 10 seconds. I need to measure my space once I get the 4x4 setup and figure out how to hang a rail system I have yet to make.

But basically I am looking at parking the light for 10 minutes then move it for 10 seconds. Over time where it stops will be random throughout the light period allowing light to get to more bud sites at different angles.

I love an experiment! And yes everyone tells me it won’t work but that’s never stopped me from breaking the laws of physics before.

And as you look at the photo remember….I don’t have the ability to organize

Well if you grow outside mother nature moves the light for you.😁
I always try to have some side lighting to replicate the sun when I'm growing inside.

The problem with light movers is they are designed to move large lights about 12 ft which makes them unusable for tents. And even though it doesn’t fly it moves about 40 inches a minute so the plants it’s going over get a “taste” of the center of a focused LED light.

I am changing that so it randomly stops and gives 10-15 minutes of light

Day 63 from seed

i turned down the light to 50% which would be around 115 watts. Water intake was much less so this will be my option when I can’t water for a few days. Temp stays around 68 degrees inside the tent and drops to 65 when the light is off. I can live with that
