First time grower, long time smoker. Decided to try my hand at growing the stuff and after quite a few rocky starts managed to get one plant thriving pretty well. Had some issues getting some good seeds and then had issues germinating. Read quite a few posts and am still wondering about pruning because this one has turned into quit a stout little monster. I'm planning on going veg cycle next week and I'm really hoping its female. The waiting is one of the hardest parts.

Welcome to the site and welcome the fine art of growing! You'll find this site to be very informative, and there's always peeps to help you along! You got a nice little plant goin there, as for pruning I don't no much about it as I don't really prune other than taking cuttings but I'm sure if you post the question in the indoor growing section someone will be able to help!

hello and welcome.
it looks like you are getting along pretty good to me
nice plant

Are you mixing the nutrients according to the directions on the bottle cos i'm seeing curled tips indicating nute burn or too much nutes basically.

Looks pretty healthy though i think, wouldn't mind a closer pic though ;)

How old and how tall is the plant now and how much more height do you have left before your on the bulbs?

I ask cos it dont look much and they can triple or more in size when you flip em into flower ( flip em 12/12 )

Are you monitoring your temps and ph?
Do you have enough lumen's per sq ft?

Pruning is not the answer as such go HERE and look down the list for the plant training section.

In fact get to know the resources section real well and you'll be pretty much set for life :p

Welcome to MP :)

Nice plant...welcome...

using the lucas formula.. its about 5 and a half weeks and 37 cm and the seed site that it should grow between 30 -50 cm, figure I'll flip them next week sometime.... I didn't know that they can get that big but I think that the closet should be able to handle it... 72 degrees pretty much constantly.. as for the lumens .. I can add three more bulbs but I'm worried about heat... jumping to the resouces section know. thanks for the tips Newbud

Hi there and welcome to MP. This is a great place to learn/share your knowledge of growing mj. It's filled with all sorts of information that will definitely help you along the way. It's also filled with members from around the world that are more than willing to help you out along the way.

The plant is looking pretty good. Do you have any more seeds to start? What happens if that plant is a male? I'm praying for you that it's a female. I don't know much about hydro so I can't really help you there. As for lights, add as many as you possibly can. The more lumens, the better your harvest will be. Your temps are great so I would add as many lights as possible. CFL's aren't that great for flowering so you want as much light as you can possibly stuff into that box. As long as you can keep temps below like 85, you should be just fine.

The plant will at least double it's size so you need to make sure you have enough vertical space for it to grow. Some plants can even triple their size when you switch to 12/12 so just be sure. As for pruning, I would never prune anything. The plant needs all those leaves to produce food for itself so pruning would just slow it down, in my opinion.

Well, I hope to see you around the forums sometime in the near future. You should start a grow journal so we can follow your grow. Keep us posted. Take care and be safe. :)
