Kinda like a miniature version of elephant ears. Little two bite pastries rather than a huge one.what the heck are elephant toes
Nope, those are Brazil nuts. We used to call 'em something else when we were kids. My old B&G macaw could crack one in one bite.

Back where I came from we had a different name for them......
Yup, a bit less crowded. I will not go to Chatfield on a weekend any more this summer. Maybe in the fall. Time to go up in the mountains. To many people in this part of the state. Then there is Big in the same state without a stoplight for 60 miles......
what was that? hmmmmmmm. I cant remember or Im in the wrong place!Back where I came from we had a different name for them......
Brazil nuts are rich in selenium. They say eating only two a day keeps the doctor away. Shelling Themis a ******* tho. Get the ones already shelled and roasted. They are one of my favorite nuts. Heating them up in the oven softens the shell.

Boiled peanuts. I grew to love them after moving down to Georgia. Thought they were terrible at first but learned to love them. They are boiled in water with salt or you can ge the spicy ones too. The ones in the can are not that bad either but the best ones at the truck stops.I work with a guy who eats those peanuts in a can. Whole peanuts in the shell. Floating in some liquid of some kind. You tend to see them a bit more in the south.

Wow that looks really peaceful. I can definitely hang out here and get away from the concrete jungle madness and have piece of mind.
Interesting I didn’t know Brazil nuts are rich with this amazing mineral. I am really familiar with vitamins and minerals as I take them every day. Back in the day, I had a really good Internal Medicine doctor that would only treat his patients with vitamins and minerals. I used to get B-12 / Magnesium shots intramuscular.Brazil nuts are rich in selenium. They say eating only two a day keeps the doctor away. Shelling Themis a ******* tho. And if anyone has had these amazing shots over a period of time then they know what I am talking about.
I love eating nuts and now I am going out to get some Brazil nuts.
Thank you for sharing.
Nuts are tasty. I had a friend that had a black walnut tree. When roasted it’s so good.
Anybody ever watch on TV called - Call of the Wildman - his name was Turtle man. I don’t think they show it anymore. Fun to watch this guy I believe from Kentucky go calls to rescue snapping turtles and other animals.Snappers look like a dinosaur. Do not pick one up. even by the rear end they can bite the pooo out of you and usually dont let go. Their neck will shoot out quick like a striking snake.

Hi All I just read on the internet about this guy Turtleman and why he is not on TV. It said the TV show was staged from the producers. Sounds like he was not really what what portrayed to be.Anybody ever watch on TV called - Call of the Wildman - his name was Turtle man. I don’t think they show it anymore. I think everyone called them that back then. They are really good for inflammation and your heart and other things too.I eat them twice a week. It is not appropriate to call them what they called them. I will leave it at that.
