Good morning Island brothers and sister women! May the joy and amazement of Topless Tuesday abound!
Mostly a wet day starting at 46F and predicted to reach 55F. Sunshine predicted for this afternoon, but back to rain tomorrow and the rest of the week.
We live close to three schools, so it gets awfully loud around here with the PPS teachers on strike and picketing, both with their yelling and beating drums, as well as supporters honking. The good news is that they apparently melt, so go home when rain falls. Apparently strike pay for picket duty doesn't specify duration.
It took two runs to get into the gym yesterday as the parking lot was full the first time and only one slot open the second. I managed to offend one of the Jacuzzi denizens who was lounging in the ~ 8-man Jacuzzi with the jets and bubbler turned off. When I turned them on, he left with a huff, saying, "You could have at least asked!"
I responded with, "Yeah, one of is a jerk. To my discredit, I didn't realize I needed your permission to use the Jacuzzi feature that I've already paid for." He had nothing more to say but I would be dead if expressions were lethal.

off to the big city this morning for a dental appointment , couple more and we will finally be done

45 here and overcast with a killer cold wind. I should take the Frankendeere out and suck up the remaining leaves and then do an oil change and put some Seafoam in the gas tank for winter, but I'm sorely lacking motivation. Maybe some caffeine via a Coke Zero might help, but that's asking a lot from a soft drink.
Lord God I can't keep up with all the posts anymore. Especially if I don't check in for awhile.
So a girlfriend of mine has been having stomach issues for almost 2 years now and has been in the hospital several trying to figure it all out. She has had scans, tests, even had her gall bladder removed and continues to have issues with nausea and vomiting. She just got back from another hospital stay. This time they are blaming it on her cannabis usage. She has a card and uses the pharmacy in florida to get her weed usually. I was thinking what the heck? And when I hung up with her i googled it and I guess it’s a thing…
have y’all ever heard of anyone with this problem? She has been smoking weed for more than 50 years pretty regular.

I can speak of CHS first hand...about 8 years ago I began vomiting uncontrolable and violently and was rushed to the ER 8 times...never could find the reason why other than severe nerve damage in my abdomen...my sister who is a democrat and is up to date on all her shots swears it's CHS...all the symptoms are there except for the desire to be in a hot shower all the time...I've been smoking since '69 and just can't see it being the cause...I've not been for a few years now...ask her if she finds relief by taking hot showers subbie...I believe that's a key element...

I’ll ask her tomorrow boo. I just looked CHS up and it sure sounds like what it could be. Says it effects daily long term cannabis users tho and that’s her, well and me too…probably a lot of us. I’m glad I don’t have those symptoms. She said that she was gonna quit and see if it helps

not to mention other large groups of societies who use cannabis on a regular basis and have in their culture for centuries
Afghani people , hash is very popular in certain places in India to….lots of long time hash smokers in Morocco and Lebanon
if the bet was why don’t we let have the author of this article , Adam Cohen , why don’t we have him go to Jamaica , Jalalabad , and Beirut and study the cultures of these people in regards to his theory and then come back and tell us what he thinks

I’m just saying there may be something to it if quitting weed stops the symptoms. I’ve been looking for data where long time cannabis users with CHS symptoms going away after quitting weed. so far only a couple of bleeding heart stories but I do know some folks that went thru some serious stomach issues when they quit weed. I’m thinking I would be one of them… I have a lot of anxiety without weed thus stomach issues.

it is a path we all must follow on our own
and all I can really be sure about is , how does cannabis become part of my life?..
one would think with all the history of people who have used cannabis for generations , that there would be empirical evidence in all those cultures of chs
but yet nothing
i don’t buy it that chs is something New…give me a break
if chs was real , wouldn’t it have happened a long time ago?
those quest s are what lead me to believe that it is something else , something genetic , something nutritional …..something else besides cannabis
but I do see your point , if the negative symptoms go away when cannabis use is stopped , I would come to the conclusion that it was something n the genetic makeup of cannabis that I am allergic to
