My undying respect, sir. My dad was a carpenter. I never did any flat work, but I've hauled enough wheelbarrows full of wet 'crete, concrete blocks, bricks, stones and lumber and **** to last a lifetime. We didn't have conveyors, and I was also the guy that hauled nails, tarpaper and shingles up the ladder after the plywood whenever he did a roof. By 15, my hands were fully calloused.

That may be part of the reason I got in to mechanicin'. It's easier.

for two years I worked out of the Labor Union Local 1202 out of Tulsa

90% of the jobs I was sent to were for finishers helper….all the grunt work for the Finishers , mix their patching mud in a wheelbarrow , grade mud on por days with a square point shovel and then a come along

yeah , I have also pushed mud in a Jackson wheelbarrow , and Georgia buggies , both manual and motorized

hose man on concrete pumps , vibrator man on walls , and swing a sledgehammer and run a 90 lb jackhammer all day , wake up the next morning and cannot even make a fist , hands so swollen

yeah , I had callouses too , and I have had the tips of my fingers bleed from cement poison

that all adds up to a lot of hard arse work , period.

I have worn out several pairs of leather knee pads and this is my last pair…

I keep some Portland around in case I need a reminder of why I retired

I am the village weed dealer as well.
While its legal to have cannabises here our county voted to not have any commercial cannabis sales in it.
😆

I really admired the Iron Workers

in fact , one year I got on with this company and they liked me and asked if I wanted to work through the winter with them

only catch was they didn’t have any work for finishers and I would have to tie steel with the iron workers , help set red iron , and stuff like that

it was a fun four months and I learned some cool ways to tie rebar

i liked it so much I bough me a spool and some pliers , still have the spool but the pliers walked off

How long did you last at the dealership.....ya gotta be tough. Ha ha! I was at dealerships all my life and I pasted the test of time and got out in one piece.
7yrs in Prison and several yrs as an Outlaw. Not to worried about being defined tough by working at a dealership.😱

Steelworkers. That means, like, heights...doesn't it? Like...up high and stuff? Up in the air? 😰

And Pute. I'm yanking your chain a little brother.
There was some great mechanics and brothers at that dealership. Still talk to some of them today. Had two brothers in laws working there.
They will tell you the same thing. Fking rip off and over priced ****. But some made their money by shop hours working on cars. They did what they were told to do and what the customer was sold, which normally was some over priced parts and labor.
So I have nothing against the brothers trying to make a living. I have a problem with the dealerships ********.
There is a reason 95% of ppl buy their parts from a Auto Parts store and not the dealership that has that **** marked up a hell of a lot more than they pay for it.
OEM my ***. Not necessary at all to fix a problem. But you already know that.

oh gawd I could tell you some stories

but only one , some laborers pulled some scaffolding out from under me and I fell three floors through the elevator shaft , 9th to the 6th and landed flat on my back , 1982

only broke one backbone L5 but that was enough to keep me on crutches for a month

i quit doing anything high or crazy after that fall , it cured me good

I made my money coating the red iron waaay up in the air...one job had me rent 6 80' boom lifts for months...the bill was astronomical but so was the price tag for the job...I stopped as an applicator back in 1981, found my silver tongue could make me more money than my bad back...best move I ever made was putting down the tools...

I look at a PICTURE from a Fire Tower and I get woozy. Right here on my stool, with Grit TV playin' in the background. TINS!

I'm a federal fking contractor and have been for yrs. I guarantee you the dealership isn't fking you any more then the ******* government.
I get paid well and do my job like Pute did.
Doesn't mean your not getting fked by dealerships or government and many many more things. I've worked hard all my life as Pute did.
Only difference is I'm fking with Pute like I do Big. Dealerships and Flat Earth sucks.😂😂😂
