In my state, you can buy 'em through the mail, but if you take it off your property or intend to shoot it, a black powder handgun of any flavor must be registered. I have several that are, and a few that aren't.
In Floriduh, they doan givvashit. I have a CCW, but I do not need it (unless I go into a reciprocal state while heavy). Nobody needs a CCW anymore down here. There are some truly basic firearm laws like "no shooting in your back yard if there is a dwelling closer than 400 feet in the direction you are shooting". Duh.

I've got a break action revolver that was made back in the 1880's that doesn't require a permit or registration. It shoots a .38 short that I make out of worn out .38 SPL brass. Black powder only. If you tried loading the shells with even a small amount of smokeless, you'd turn it into a hand grenade instead of a handgun.
Oh, deary dear... Here's some knowledge that ain't burny hot, but needs to go around.

My Unca Harry came home with a break action .45 Webley he got from a Brit. He shot up the ammo he'd brought back with the pistol, and went into a hardware store to get some more. Bought a box of 50, and was gumping with the hardware guy who was a vet also.

Unca Harry mentioned his Webley. The hardware guy did a double-take, and asked if that was what the .45 ammo was for. "Yup" sez Unca Harry.

"That'll blow your hand off. The Limeys made wimpy .45 rounds. That gun will not take American .45 cal pressures even though the bullets fit just fine in it."

So I got to play with the empty Webley every now and then. It was never fired in the US with US ammo.

Just as dumb here in Washington. UI can grow 15 plants legally with a permit but I cant posses over and once of weed. Or something like that I forget the specifics but that's the gist. I grew weed for all of my younger years illegally and would do it now but my wife is all for following the laws.
Look up the law in your state. You can’t carry more than an oz here but it doesn’t say you can’t posses over an oz. It’s good to know the laws in your state. They are all a little different some allow plants in flower and don’t count the ones in veg some count all of them, some requires them to be marked. Get your wife to look at them with you so she’s not so worried

she was one of my first hippie loves

whenever I hear this song it makes me want to use it in a movie

it would be about young people growing up in France or Italy just before WW1

they would be playing and dancing and working in the vineyards and hanging out at the local, taverns drinking and falling in love and dreaming..

and then the war breaks out

and now the young men are running through the fields with bombs bursting all around them and this, song is,playing as the young soldiers life flashes in front of them and then it all gets Dark.

First time I ever heard this song was when Robert Goulet sang it on The Mike Douglas Show. I've loved it ever since!

@Hippie420 talked of this earlier I believe he said he takes 38 shells cuts them down and reloads with black powder less charges. Most likely so his does not blow up.
The one I had as a child had a rather large blow out at beginning of the guns barrel right next to the cylinder .

While your loading you flare gunn my M4 clone will blast them out as fast as I can pull the trigger. Recoil is quite controllable, it is a 12 gauge, there is kick....but a lot less than my old Browing A5 in 16 gauge, or typical 870 pump gun.
Are we going to duel........................... I want six guns at high noon

My Marlin Kicks like a mule
I only fire 20 rounds at the range and back in the bag she goes
Yes, any of the larger center fire cartridges are like that! That is one thing I like about standard caliber AR15. No recoil to speak of.

I can shoot hundreds of rounds in that caliber. Both my long range rifles are the same, but one in.308, one in .223/.556. The .308 is not something I want to shoot all day.

The .223 is no sweat at all. Basically a varmint caliber.

They still make the cartridges. I believe it's .455 Webley. A guy across the street had one in .38.

A light bolt action .308 will start to get to your shoulder after an hour or two. In a gas operated rifle like an M14 or a FNLAR, you can shoot 'em all day if you've got a big enough wallet.

My .308 long range gun is heavy. Long bull barrel. 50 rounds in a row is tiresome.
