Any of you guys ever dealt with Barrets Esophagus?
About 12yrs ago I had an Endoscopy and doc said I had the beginnings of it. My doc now says I need to have it checked and see how it's progressed. So when I set up to have a Colonoscopy I'll have to do the damn Endoscopy too.
Barrett's can turn into cancer although they say it's very rare. Scares the crap outta me although I don't really have any symptoms. I can swallow food just fine and I have never coughed up blood or anything.

My ex-wife had that...

My ex had horrible reflux, always had stomach issues. It is from stomach acid getting out side your stomach and affecting the skin in the esophagus begins to change and can be a precancerous condition. Hers was barrots syndrome, not beginnings.

She took some prescription meds, and I forget which side she was supposed to sleep on. The way the esophagus connects to the stomach, on one side the opening is up and less prone to leak

She would wake up and drink water, claiming there was material in her throat. Her reflux was bad. Small girl, 5'10" 120 lbs, she said it was heredity.

I didn't know that's what they called it, but I've had it that long or longer. Doesn't happen often anymore. I noticed excessive amounts of beer seem to trigger it, or too much food too late in the evening.

They told her not to drink coffee or carbonated beverages. Smoking cigs is no bueno either. She drank beer like a fish and smoked like a tar kill.

I was in what was called a gedi unit. It was established to house mass quantities of Covid patients and what it was was a gymnasium converted into a mass observation room with curtains between the beds. I swear to God I felt like I was in a concentration camp. They kept the temperature at 65° and when I asked for a heated blanket, one was thrown on my feet, and then the chimp left for the day. Lesso stopped by for a visit, he can corroborate my words… I never realized how important a window could be to my psychological welfare…

Windows are very important in hospitals. My dad had sundown syndrome I believed they called it. After a while, you sort of go nuts. It goes away once home. He knew what the month was, day was but he thought it was 1970. He kept saying "I own 3 houses, why can't I go home to one? Yup, back then he did. He kept insisting my mother was having an affair with the deacon at their church...and he said he had proof. Nevermind he had been in the hospital over 30 days, with much of that in some forced coma.

He snapped out of it when he finally went home. Very bizarre!

Nice save on the cabbage. When my dad was in the army in France, my mom sent him those little bottles of Coke.

He took one and a pound cake he bought in some bakery. He walked a short way, found a good spot to scarf it down. Turned out, that pound cake was corn bread!

I whomped up a half gallon of sauerkraut yesterday and set it aside to ferment. That's the first time I've made any, so looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

The Koreans make it, too. They call it kimchi. If you want your sauerkraut to taste exactly like kimchi, take a leak in it to help it ferment.

This plant is bred from indica pheno of dj shorts. 1996 the blueberry line was pollinated with a killer blue moonshine male (blueberry hashplant) . A little harder to grow. The yields are medium with a pronounced blueberry aroma and indica high.

Picking up my Wife's, Mother's ashes today Sad times indeed.
I pray my dear wife can recover , never saw her so bad.

Been there exactly. I loved my MIL. She never did a wrong thing or had a cross word for the thirty years I knew her. My wife was desolate.

Comes the silver lining:

Both my wife and myself have discovered that when we think of her, it is always, always in the context of some happy memory.

This is not some defensive maneuver you cultivate; it is something you discover after some time has passed: The pain goes away completely, and only the good stuff lingers.
