Those reel mowers made ya sweat My pops had them too, left them for me to cut the grass LOL

It is what we had when it became my duty to mow the lawn at about age 10. Part of my $0.25/wk allowance.

PS, $0.25 is the equivalent of $3.10 in 2023 dollars.

But at 11 I was running a small landscape company
Me and my push mower LOL
cut 5 lawns a week, lil old ladies ripped me off bad
But I learned how to cut and harvest opium poppies and their goodness.

We had moved to the country by the time I was 11 and I made money on the side as a farm or ranch hand, but when we moved back to town my junior year of high school, I mowed lawns and repaired lawnmowers, besides delivering papers and working at a local supermarket as a stocker and sack boy.
