I'm just trying to grow a few plants. I have the option of leaving them by a small window. I was trying to use two 15 watt flouresant 18" fixtures, one with a plant aqarium bulb, and the other with a daylight bulb. I didn't know if that was not enough. I also have another 15 watt flouresant bulb that's supposed to be daylight that I added. Most of my plants died except one so I put it in the window and it seems to be doing ok.

As far as light, is it possible to give the plants too much? I figured I didn't have enough thats' why I put the one in the window. Is regular daylight the best for growing?
Any help would be appreciated.

the daylight will be good, but only direct light for hours n hours all day will yeild anything decent. window light is usually not enough IMO unless you have a huge bay windo and uninterupted light coming in all day from east to west.

i would invest in an HID , try insidesun.com for a 100 doller 400w hps. that will get you some real buds.

the flos are ok for seedlings or a few clones but not enough to get a real harvest in.

thanks, thats cool. i'm just growing a few plants though, nothing big.

what if i use the flourescents on top of the daylight??

is trying to give them as much light as possible what you want to do??

There is no such thing as too much light.

Too much heat from too many lights indoors...but you can never have too much.

The most natural daylight you can give them the better.
