And that is why she is the Hemp Goddess!

Very succinct answers.

I don't personally know of anyone and I have never heard of anyone who has actually gotten a harvest from an Aerogarden. It is just not the right kind of equipment to try and grow mj--even autos.

I would really suggest that you do some reading and get a little more familiar with what you are going to need to bring a plant to harvest. People use tents and boxes for more reasons than stealth. You need to control your environment. You need a reflective enclosure of some kind around your garden to reflect light back to your plants. With no enclosure, your light disburses throughout the entire space. You need air exchange, air blowing on the plants, and you are going to need to control temps and humidity.

Plants have enough stored energy for a couple of weeks. Plants should not be fed any food until they are a couple of weeks old. Nutrients can kill seedlings. Then start a weak solution and work up. Autos have a set life. You need to keep them as stress free as possible.

In addition, while many places have a very liberal attitude towards possession, cultivation is another thing. I really advise against having a plant out in the open for all to see. It also invites theft.

I believe that you are going to find that you are going to need more than an aerogarden and a few CFLs. I hate to see you spend 10-12 weeks (virtually all strains take longer than breeder's estimates) and have nothing to show for it.

Duly noted! I think should clarify a few things! its not just out in the open for all to see, its just not hidden in a box or tent in the attic or basement, but rather in a spare room on a shelf with flat white sides, as well as the Mylar booster it came with. I do have a government issued license to grow medicinally for myself, which is why law enforcement is not a concern. I was going to use what was already here plus a few affordable extras. The aerogarden we received already has 3 lights in the hood and the addition of 3 more 23 watt (100 watt equivalent) cfl's on the sides and front should be more than enough light to meet my needs. I have not provided any nutrients and I do have a fan blowing over the seedling.

The relative humidity where I live is between 50%-70% always and can be lowered with little to no effort by up to 20%. The temperatures do not ever rise above 80 degrees even in the dog days of summer.

As I said, this is a first attempt using what we already have around the house plus a few additions. If I get what I feel is a favourable result I will upgrade the areas where a deficiency was noticed so it's better the next time. I just want to be able to limit the number of times I end up driving 4.5hrs to get some medicine as that's the closest place I can get it legally.

I certainly appreciate all the help, I have done lots of reading and have determined everyone has an opinion about what works best, and many of these opinions contradict each other. If this turns into a failed experiment I will look into other growing mediums, but I'm pretty sure with a few tweaks and some special attention this system should produce, at least a little bit.

Actually, it probably won't be enough light.

And of course, you can do what you want. However, many have tried this for growing and as far as I know, no one has ever really made one work. It would really be quite cool if some little gizmo like this would grow a nice little auto plant. It is kind of a case of "If this worked, lots of people would be growing this way." Not trying to discourage you, but when things have been tried and discarded as an unsatisfactory method by others, we would not be doing our job if we did not pass this info on to new growers contemplating the same method.
