HPS with Flouros

i have an approx. 2 ft wide by about 4 feet tall area and i have 1 100 watt HPS light with the canopy about 6 inches from the light they seem to be doing good since i moved them closer, but my question is it worth hooking up 2 flouros with the HPS light is more light metter or is this just a waste of time, i dont know if the lights in combination would work well, thanks

:welcome: to MP. more light=better for your plants-only problem from adding more lights is the heat,adding flouros-cfls at your hps works great if temp is not a problem-

ok thanks for the info guys, i have a small flouro beside my 100 watt HPS and i moved my plants up to about 5 inces from the canopy, it doesn't feel hot i put my hand at the top of the canopy and its just warm, but im thinking of adding 1 more flouro.


you know i do have a little light bleeding through because my grow room is quite big maybe 6 ft long, 5 ft wide and 4 ft tall, but i put some white plastic shower curtain liners around it to close the square footage in.
