How Much Is Too Much??

I noticed yesterday that 5 or 6 of my girls on the front side of the tent were a foot or more taller and the buds were substantially bigger than the plants on the opposite side of the tent. While investigating, I saw my supporting pole, above, had slid or vibrated out of center. This caused my end light to move 12 in. +/- out of position. This is why the plants were so , out of proportion, to each other.

This raises the question; what if I ran 2 rows of (3) 600w. hps. Instead of just 1 row of 3- 600 watters. This would SUBSTANUALLY increase my yield. Also my elect. bill..

any thoughts?? PLEASE..

What size it your tent? How bout just getting a new 1000 wat? Is heat not an issue? How many plants?

I'd think (3) 600w lights would be plenty of light for a tent. Between centering up your lights and maybe some plant rotation around the tent during flowering you can surely even out your product...:joint:

But...:huh: If you want to go with (3) more 600 watters :hubba: it's not going to make your elec bill increase a silly amount....

3 x 600w = 1800w per hour.... or 1.8KW per hour. 1.8KW x 12 hours per day = 21.6KWH per day x 30 days for the average month = 648KWH per month x .09 (my elec rate is 9 cents per kilowatt hour) = $58.32 per month added to your bill.

That's cheap, I run (55) 600w HPS lites a month

tent is an argromax, xl = 96 by 54. want to keep using these 3 lights. could slide these to one side and run a second set, either 2 - 1000 w. or better 3 - 600w. . my 424cfm fan keeps the tent temp @ 80 deg. w/ lights on. w/ fan on low speed. (21) plants, crammed.
