had a sweet gig going with 3- 1000 watt virtual sun lamps in a huge space... now i have a 27 inche by 50 inch closet for a grow space how many plants would you say.....(thinking 3)..... and should i buy a smaller bulb? also i have no problem taking suggestions what to grow for a decent yield and quality for that space

You have 9.4 square feet so a 400 watt will work if you can get enough ventilation to keep things cool

I have a 30"x48" and I can grow 4 nice indicas or 2 nice hybrids to a good size and get a nice harvest. If your light has a digital ballast then I would back it down to a 600w and pull 530cfm through it without heat issues.

You do know that you cannot just buy a smaller bulb--you would need to also buy a ballast to match the bulb size? I think that you may find it hard to keep a 1000W cool in that space. I currently have a 600W in a space that is about 24 x 48 and have some problems when the temps outside get around 100.
