How many CFLs to add?

My space is 5x3x2 ft and I am planning on growing 6 Lowryders in this box. Right now I have been using 5 four foot flouros with double bulbs in each. I want to add some CFLs and I was thinking around six should do it. Any thought/suggestions? I have been shopping around for some cheap sockets that are pre-wired and all I have to do is add the CFL bulb. Anybody know a good website?

We need more specific specs on your grow area. Which measurement is width and length? You should get as many cfls in the box as you possibly can if you plan to flower with them. The more lumens, the better. What kind of ventilation do you have? Just my thoughts. Take care and be safe. Keep us posted.

Whats the wattage of those bulbs? Total lumen output?

If I understand correctly, you have 5 four foot fluoros, which is 10 4' tubes total, which should be a pretty intense light setup, assuming they're decent wattage.

What color spectrum do you have?

Need to know exactly what you have before we can decide what you need .

Go to the Home Depot and get 6 socket fixtures (its a power cord with a light socket at the end). They have a clamp on them so you can clamp them onto your grow box.

Then get some 30 watt cfls, 1700 lumens each, 3000k.....screw them in and your good to go.

I am also flowering under floros right now and just added the side lights. I know HID would be more efficient, but since my ventilation is poor, floros will have to do for now.

I have a similar size grow box as you and managed to get 5000 lumens per sf using all fluros. I'm in week 5 of flower and so far so good.

You're shooting for 5000 lumens per square foot. 5x3= 15 square feet. You are shooting for 75000 lumens to light that whole box decently. Get as many cfls in there as you possibly can. I wish I could help you more. I would go into 12/12 pretty quickly with only 2 ft of height to work with. Just my thoughts. Keep us posted. Take care and be safe.

i havent growen lowrider yet but have dun a lot of reserch on them they are auto flowering so photo period is not important just make sure they have a good supply make sure you have the cfls that cover the red spectrum. if you are intrested i have found some dwarf auto flowering strains that have far better yield and thc content let,id love to here wot you think of them wen dun
