Well here is my second attempt at growing. the first attempt ended abruptly.

I purchased myself this cabinet and put this all together myself. The plants were purchased as clones and are under a 600w hps set on a 18/6 cycle. I have had them for about 3 weeks now and boy are they growing fast. I got a little nervous the first few days I had them as I watched several of the leaves curl up and die but after the shock peroid was over they took right off.

Well without further adue here they are.

I am going to have to start checking into nutrient info since I did notice one of the plants is starting to get some dark spots on the leaves that look dead.

Post up the comments and maybe I can learn something

Well are you sure thats an HPS?? Unless you have a filter for your camera thats a MH. I can help if you can answer that.:D

and yes you are right. i got confused. the 600w mh is in there right now and the 600w hps is waiting.

ya that light is kinda white....HPS is hard to take pics off, pics are just orange, and it screws with the camera...mine atleast

Thats what I thought and good call on that. MHs are great for veg. and When you put them in flower they will blow up on that HPS. They are geat. How bigs that room?

hows the temperature in there? You might run into some heat stress if you don't have a fan on that light. unless you are able to leave the door open.
:farm: Bud

floor space is about 22"x30" and it is alittle over 6' tall. I know it is a bit small for 4 of them. I really only wanted two but when someone shows up to the door with 4 what ya gonna do.

The filter I made is filled full of activated charcoal and is using a 255cfm fan to pull air through it. I live in a very dry climate so i purchased a cooling room humidifier and have it plumed into the cabinet providing fresh cool air to the floor with the heat exhaust up top. my temps with the doors closed stay at a consistent 78 degrees about right where the main part of the plants are. the heat fan is controlled by the box in the top right that has a thermostat in it so it cuts the fan on and off by temp.

May i say your young ladies are looking great. Here's some GREEN MOJO to give them a boost. ;)

well a little time has passed since my last update and now I have some concerns.

I did not add any nutes untill 2 days ago. At that time I used a 1/4 dose of miracle grow tomato food. I know mg is not the best stuff to use but with the holidays my shipment of nutes must of got lost by ups and now they contacted me and are saying my shipment should be here on the 4th of jan. Anyways the m.g. I used is 18-18-21.

These pictures will hopefully show what I am looking at. I have been seeing this slowly happen to the whole plant starting at the older leaves and work its way up. It started before I added the m.g. which leads me to think it is not nute burn. From what I have been reading it is almost like a little bit of everything. I have leaves curling, leaves twisting, tips turning a black color even on fairly new growth.

Thanks for the help on this. I am hoping it is just lack of nutes and that with what I did add to them two days ago will help them come back.

Do not and i repeat do not use anymore Miracle-Gro nutes on those ladies. Using the soil is one thing but their nutes can kill a plant real quick. What ya need to do is give them a good flush with plain water. For every gallon of dirt your plants are in you need to flush 5 gallons of plain water through the pot. So if you have your plants in 3 gallon pots you need to flush 15 gallons of plain water through the pot or until it comes out the bottom clear. ;)

yes, 1timer - please do as TBG suggests - having troubles now must b solved, or else they will follow u 4 the rest of your life. hope those girls perk up.

well here is some updates since it has been a while. finally got my order of nutes in and I think that was my problem all along. I think it was lack of nutes. After slowly building up the amount of nutes i gave them they started having a huge growth spurt. all in all i am happy but i do have another question. why is the large leaves turning yellow and slowly curling up and dyeing? I have one pic #4 that if you look close you can see one of the leaves on the back plant has turned yellow shrivled up and is soon to die completly. god i hope this all makes sense i took a wake and bake on this fine sat morning.

Anyways the lights are on a 12/12 cycle and i am using fox farm nutes. i got the trio pack along with the trio pack of their additives. i am only using the tiger bloom, big bloom, and beastie bloomz on them based on what the instructions with them say to use.

i got a copple questions for u man,,one did u fallow the brothers grunts instructions above ,im just asking cause he uses mirical grow soil and he is also one of the best growers on this site in my opinion, but any ways also what is your ph at ,but in my opinion its the soil ,the time release pelets give people trouble all the time,,and if u aint checking ur ph u might want to start because tap water can be very hi in ph mine is off the charts hi so every tijme i water i have to adjust my ph our my plants would proly be dead lol

but i did also want to complement u on your grow room it is very nice bro and the ladies are also lookin prety good to me also ,,

HAPPY GROWIN TOM TOM
AND HAPPY SMOKIN

no i never flushed them. i did quit using mg tomato food. i only used distilled water on them. I dont have a meter to check the ph of the water but i did buy two cheap soil ph testers and as far as I can tell the ph of the soil is fine. I am going to have to water today so after I water I will check the ph again and report back.

The leaf in pic 4 that looks the worst is still moist. I touched it earlier today expecting it to be dry and brittle but was surprised to find it still moist.

ha ha, friend of mine has the same cabinet he bought from wal-mart, but he ended up not using it.. your plants look awesome!! Do you know what strain the clones are?

not the walmart cabinet but close lol.(have to shop cheaper than walmart)

I have no idea what the strain is.

From what I am reading is that since the leaves are yellow and the main veins of the leaves are red looking than I need to give them more p. I gonna leave them on the nutes i have them on since they have only seen one good week of the nutes and see if by next week it doesnt improve

Great looking ladies. id be careful with the nutes though. at first they seem to really help but if you're not careful there will be a point where the nutes will end up doing more harm than good. i'd watch to make sure there isn't signs of nute burn. love the set up. good luck on the rest of the grow!

I really hope you find the solution to you problems, because i love your grow room, and think everything looks fantastic :) Much love <3
