OK. As most of you know, I do not have alot of experience with seedstock. So, I have a few questions.

I have some ChemdawgDD seeds that I am getting ready to pop.
I am going to pop all 10.
So lets say I get 5 females. Here is the question. To "save" the pheno I want, what is the best way for this? Do I flower out the seed mom, and take cuts off her before I flower, and mark them as to which mom each clone came off so I can keep the best one?

Or do I take cuts off the moms, flower the cuttings, and keep the seeded mom.

Or, do I flower the seeded moms, and reveg the pheno I want.

Sorry if this sounds a little dumb, but I hope yall know what I am tryin' to get across. Which is the "correct" way of saving the pheno u want?

you can do all 3 really... depends on what you want to do..

personaly i always flower the plants, take cuttings from all of them, chop the males, toss the cuttings from the males, let the girls flower on out and start a fresh mom from the cuttings.. this way you dont have them in flower for a few weeks for nothing...

good luck to you whichever way you decide to go

I have only deliberatly created seed stock once. I had a friend who brought me back some seeds from a Nor Cal grower who she trims for. She thought they were WW, but when I grew some, they were not WW. I did not know what they were, but I liked the strain. When I started getting short on seeds, I picked my best female and the best male and made seeds. The strain seemed very stable, so I just picked the best looking, lushest plants, although there wasn't a lot of difference in the plants.

I personally would choose option #1 (keep in mind this is JMO with nothing to really back it up  . You may actually end up with 2 pheno types that you want to keep. I would take 2-3 clones off every plant. By the time the original seeded plants are ready for harvest, you can have your clones vegged out and ready to be flowered. I was amazed how many seeds just one male and one female can make. You might want to selectively pollinate just a few buds.

"ditto".. except that I have 'invented' a couple of reasons to enforce my choice :p
I think that observing the plant from seed not only gives you a better impression of the true, natural characteristics of each pheno, but I think that cuttings are a little easier to train to bonsai/bush for a donor.

Again, thanks for the input! I too have read that cuts from the original seed plant (what is this P1??) are better to keep as the "mom".
I wish I would have thought of this before I started my Mazar :( Now, I have to do another grow to figure out what pheno came from what mom.

first one sounds good was thinking of that myself lable all plants 1-10 take 2 cuttings each while the other ones are 3/4 of the way done throw the clones into flower samlple each original plant choose which one you like
you should have already killed the males but rememer to save 1 clone put subject a & b together but away from other flowering clones and there you have it your money and your private stash with seeds
