Hey folks. Much respect for the work I've seen here.

So I found 3 seeds in a half oz of something I kinda liked. I found some soil in pots in my garage, and it looks like it's been mixed with some long term fertelizer pelets for flowers.

I set up a work light (type t 250W bulb) and have been running 18+6 for about 3 days. All 3 came up just fine, but one (the gimp) couldn't shed the seed, and I was unable to extract it to aid. So now I have 2, and this morning both were about 3.5-4" long with 2 smooth bottom leaves, and 4 appearing above. They were both drooped over on the soil and I set them back up with a coat hanger and lightly tied dental floss.

I've read that they need to be excercised a bit when young to strengthen the base, and they live with a gentle breeze from a fan. I'm wondering A) how i'm doing, B)what I can do to get them to stand on their own??

Thanks in advance,

Welcome to MP. Glad to have ya here. Your plants could be the way they are for a number of reasons. How often do you water them? Your using pre ferted soil that could be another reason. If you have any pics that would help also. ;)

Hey and welcome to the site,
There is tons of info in the forums, please do ask for help, but peruse the forums too.
OK, you got two plants starting under less than desirable circumstances, BUT I like to think, Always up for a good rescue mission.
First thing is to ask yourself a couple basic questions.
1. Am I ready to commit to this ?
2. Is this low key and safe ?
3. Can I give it what it's going to need ?

If you can answer yes to all 3, then let's crank from there. Container size will be important, (I am assuming that this is an indoor grow ). Your going to need these items.
1. A couple of 3 gallon containers
2. Fresh potting soil ( The good stuff) here you splurge. Heck even miracle grow potting soil with ferts for three months already mixed in would be better than that giant question mark that's hanging over your plants right now. When you go to transfer plants you must not lose the soil that is surrounding the roots. Remove a 1 inch diameter plug with the roots very gently and place each plug in it's new home.
3. You are going to need to give your babies alot of the right kind of light. Do some careful math. You need to understand how big your canopy of growth will be, what amount of space are your babies going to require, and how many Lumens will you need to be giving them per square foot. Pay attention to the light spectrum output of lights, and what you really need to have to meet your needs.

Now all that would just scare me off of growing, but really it is all easy to do.
