I was planning to grow 4 low ryders on my balcony outside come the summer time. I was just wondering if they need to be put on a 12/12 light/dark rotation or can I just leave them outside with the natual light pattern? Should I be covering them with anything?

from what i read u dont have to cover them or worry about the 12/12 they will flower no matter what the light schedule is if i read it right thats why they call them auto flowers hope i helped;)

no 12/12 needed i think they can flower on 24/0 i believe but most recommend 18/6
i was thinking of doing the same ive read its around 9 weeks seed to harvest

This is just a thought but but since a lowrider only has about a two month lifespan wouldnt the more the light the better? I would think they would thrive better indoors because they would get 18 straight hours of full light instead of 6 or so hours full sunlight. Ive never grown any auto strains but that was just a thought.

So do they do better indoor or outdoor?????

i would say all depends on where you live for outdoor is my thought some places have longer hours others dont but from what i remember the sun is about 10,000 luminas a ft and that pretty hard to do indoors JMO

True about the geography and sun. Im not in the best place in the world to do outdoor grows but I make it work somehow.

they are fine outside. get them as much direct sunlight as you can, feed them and let the genes take care of the rest........
