Quick question. I've been scouting for a good place and I think I've found one.

I plan on growing outdoors near a creek. It has some vegetation like berries, some trees for shade and cover, and has some nice tall "sea of green." And since it's by the creek it has a near by water source. The ground is like what you would find if you go camping or go out in the woods. It doesn't have "perfect" soil but since I noticed the vegetation and many different "greens," would it be O.K. to plant my seeds directly into the ground? Or should I use bag soil or a pot/container and just set it outdoors?

*Side Note...the place where I plan to grow near the creek is tough to get to. There're a lot of plants with thorns and it's really bushy so it deters people from walking around that area, so I think I'm relatively safe.

Thanks in advance for the input!!!

is it open enough for your plants to get plenty of direct sun, or is it a shaded area? remember you wanna try to get as much direct light as you can. if the natural soil looks like good soil i would plant directly in it. that way you don't have pots sittin around with mj growin in it. in case someone runs upon them they won't stand out so bad. or you could dig holes and fill them with pottin soil and grow in that. hope this helps

There are some areas where there's too much shade. But where I plan to grow has direct sunlight in the "sea of green" so hopefully it'll be well hidden.

I've read that it's better for the plant to get more of the early morning sun light rather than the afternoon sunlight. That's where I have some difficulty. I'm not sure which direction the sun is shining during the early mornings. I guess I can just find what direction is east and just go from there:confused: I know exaclty where the sunlight spots are during the afternoon. But the early morning sun I have no idea.

The natural soil looks a TAD bit dry, but that might be because it's summer time and there's less water around. But I like the idea of digging up a hole and just putting my own pre-mixed soil and planting it like that.

IMO If you have the soil or can get the soil, then go ahead and use it, you have no idea what stuff is in that natural soil and by using bag soil it will make it easier adjusting nutes and stuff when the time comes.. :aok:

i don't normaly worry to much about nutes when growing them in the wild like that.. i go out about once a month or less and toss a little 10-10-10 on the ground around them and water.

What's 10-10-10. Is that a ratio of soil/nutes/ferts or something?

That is the NPK ratio. 10% nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium... Also, Direct sun all day is best.... No shade is needed for marijuana and is actually bad for it cause it doesn't get the light it needs. This late in the year you almost need all day to be direct sun since the plant will already be small...
