Im no mathematics genius either but lighting isn't that difficult....
Example..take the size of the tent and multiply those numbers..4x4 tent equals 16sq ft of grow space.
Take the number of watts you have and divide it by your floor space...500w ÷ 16sqft = 31.25watts per square ft of grow space.
Ya shoot for 30-35 to ensure ya got enough for good bud development. It's just a guideline. I've run grows with less wpsqft and they did fine.
Oops, I posted the wrong link. It's actually two of these. I generally run them at the 8-9 setting, even in flower.
I don't know much about different lighting, so I just stay with a major company. Ac Infinity, Spider Farmer, Mars Hydro, Vivosun, or something like that. Folks with more indoor experience might find better deals out there.
Those LM301b EVO lights are nice, but they sure are pricey! It doesn't look like Samsung is charging a premium for them, though. I see them on DigiKey for $0.43 per diode, and the LM301b for $0.50. I'm waiting for the price drop - or for my other lights to die : )
