These are my girls. They are just under 5 weeks old and recently transplanted into their pots. I was hoping they would be taller by now but had a couple setbacks with temperature control. My question is I have 1 plant that looks like it’s starting to flower. Not sure what to do. I only have 1 grow room. Should I change the light schedule ? leave it on the current 18/6 ? The second to last photo is the one that I believe is starting to flower. I know they should continue to grow during flowering

Regular photoperiod plants will preflower during veg when they reach sexual maturity, but not actually go into flowering. Your plants look like autoflowering plants and reducing the light will hurt your yield considerably

For my knowledge, what are you looking at that makes you think they are autoflowering? I didn't purposely by autoflowering seeds. I'll keep them on a veg cycle for now. It's funny how if you look at the feeding schedule that foxfarm puts out with their nutrients, by week 5 they want you to flip them into flowering. While I think my plants are doing well, I think they need to grow more before I do that

They look ready to switch. Most everything I've read says to keep them short. Economics comes into play for most people.

I do agree with the keeping them short with training and due to grow room height restrictions, these plants are only 6" tall. They have stalks the size of pencils but they are too short (IMO) to switch just yet

They aren't talking about plants from seed, they are referring to rooted clones

Really? Boy does that make a difference!. I'm just going to keep going the way i am for now. Keep the girls happy!

I've had best luck with nothing over 16 for 4-6 weeks then to 12. The extra 2 hours has never been worth it, in terms of yield. The idea is continuous harvest with low expenditure. For me anyway, the less the better.

I always run my Veg tent 24 hours on. I find it is very helpful to limit stretching. As for Flowering, I have stuck to the 12 on 12 off method. I know there are plenty of alternate flowering schedules that people like to try, but from I have read the 12/12 method is best. jmo

Like Hamster, I also run my veg lights 24/7 and my flowering lights 12/12. I personally notice a lot of difference between running my lights 18 and running them 24.

Agreed with 24/7+12/12 for light cycles. It makes for a predictable grow. They don't bolt or get into weird excessive preflowering in veg, and the sudden switch to having 'night' from having none at all is like flipping a switch when it's time to flower. Boom. Puffballs in two weeks, and then it's off to the races!

Would it cause a problem if I switched to 24/7 after they’ve been 18/6 for this amount of time?

No, it won't do any harm at all. The only time switching lighting schedules is a problem is when you are in flowering. In Veg you can bump them up to 24/0 anytime.

Except you are flowering. Those are not preflowers. Either you let the lighting schedule get too short or they are autoflowering
It only looks to me like one of them is flowering. The others are new growth from where I pinched the tops off. I may be wrong
