floro/cfl mix

if i need the light and i am currently using CFLS (not enough of them at all) should i grab some flourescents i got in my basement and use them for vegging with the cfls or should i go out tomorrow and grab a bunch of fixtures and higher watt cfl bulbs for them?

Depends on what the wattage and the kelvin is of the lights. If your floros are 6500k I would use them before buying any more.

uhm all i know is that their 25 watt each (2) bulbs obvs and says cool white.. their pretty long

I am not sure what the K for cool whites are, They will work but are not the best. Most when using floros use the 40 + watt bulbs. I try to use 6500k and 42 watt for veg.

I use cfls and floros to grow, a decent floro you should search is Grow-lux its like 80 watts of the best weed growing lights you can get ( within 80 watts or under ) and it stays cool to the touch even with months of use.

I say get some more higher watted CFLS ( the white and the redish ) and get some more plugins for them, they work better then the long tubes, also some reflecters or home made reflectors will help out tons, sorry if this doesnt make sense kinda buzzed outa my dome.

Heres the deal,,,ya need 5000 lumens psf of grow space. 3000 lumens will work in Vegg,,but still the more Lumens the better. So add the Lumens on the bulb to get the total ya need. I use 42 watt cfls(2600 lumens)
Use 6500K(thats a Daylight Bulb) for Vegg and 2700K for Flower.

I use 4' flouros..unfortunately.... anyway, you can buy the right veg spectrum 4' tubes from verilux, they are 6500k heat index, and full august sunny day spectrum of light. Use both...CFL and your tubes, and you should be ok. And as Cowboybudsky said, switch to WARM tubes (kitchen and bath) for flowering.
