First Time Help!!!

its my first time growin but can I use a 90 watt halogen flood light for indoors?

right now i have a 40w flourescent for vegetative, but im planning on switching to a 90w halogen flood for flowering will it work?

Halogens are worthless for growing, that small CFL would be better than any halogen you can use, on that same note im going to recomend you get better lighting or you are most likely waste your time without the proper lighting.
Rule of thumb is:
3,000 Lumens per square foot are the least neccesary for a good growm
5,000 Lumens will get you a nice grow
anything higher than that and youre on your way to hemp fest!!

Hi and welcome,

Halogen's are no good. I started with them, but switched to CFL's. You're prolly going to need more than 1 CFL too. I have about 4 per plant right now, which may be a little overkill, but better than too little. You're looking to put about 5000 Lumens into a sqft. of grow space. Check out references tab at the top of the screen. There are some great articles on lighting to get you started.

thanks! u helped a lot I dont want to be wasting my time gowing and have nothing to smoke in the end but could i just use more flourescents and go to a 12 hour a day when necessary to enter flowering stage

you can have as many Flourescents as you can afford, the more you have the farther you can keep the plants from th light, fewer means the lights have to be sorta close to the plants which then causes other parts to loose light ( see where more would help ).
