Well.. I did it. I know I'm probably breaking some sacred laws, but I didn't have much choice!! I got my seeds from some pot that a buddy brought over, and picked out what I could. I planted three in a fledgling garden, and three in a bucket. I now have some plants growing. The ones in the garden took off, and the ones in the bucket are just starting to come up. Anyway, I think I have identified two males and one female in the garden, but am kinda wondering what to do now? Oh, yeah.. I live in a place where pot is extremely hard to come by.. so I was hoping that there might be a use for the males, I hate to waste 'em seeing as how if these don't grow, I may not be able to get more pot for a very very very very long time!! Anyway, I will post some pictures so you can get a better idea of what stages they are in. I just wanted to introduce myself, and give you guys that know what your doing a little background as to where I am coming from. I appreciate any and all information and help anyone can provide.. Thanks.

Pics will be coming soon.. and I Guess my next post will be in the outside growing question forum.

Welcome to the forum man...I'm over 30 too and yes it can be difficult to get decent herb at our age. :p
There are two thing you can do with the males.
1. find the late flowering healthiest one. chuck the early flowering one and pollenate your female. Use the seeds for next year.
2. Pull em all and hang em up to dry and make hash outa em.

If you like to grow and are more of the "hermit" type. I would highly consider looking into an indoor grow. You can easily buy seeds off line safely and secure just browse around you'll see 90% of us order good stock of high quality seeds. You could easily supply yourself with 2 ounces every 2 months of some of the best herb you ever had. or even more. but two ounces is a tiny op with only 2 small cabs and very easily concealed. The members on this site will more than gladly help you get on way for very minimal $$$. I set up a 100 buck lil cab that will way more than pay for itself in the first grow.

Welcome to the site man...lotsa cool peoples here with vast wealth of knowledge. ;)

Good luck and happy growing...always remember your own homegrown is 10X better and safer than anything you buy off the street.

Thanks a lot.. I hear what you're saying about the indoor grow, but I live somewhere that it is extremely difficult to get anything!! Right now I'm on an island in the south pacific where everything is imported and really expensive (i.e. $30 for a box of cereal). BUT the soil here is amazing!! So growing outside kinda just makes sense for me. But, thanks for the meet and greet, and I know what you mean about hard to find good herb.. hell any herb for that matter!

Welcome, theres alot of good people on here and alot of very good info to be had and shared.Hope to see you around:dancing:

you can make hash out of the male plants and the female plant trimmings. and since hash is all the resin and tricomes, its good stuff.

man id starve to death before i paid 30 for a box of cereal ,,,,plr

Hello all, I call myself a newbie because it's been 32 years since my last grow! I started my patio/greenhouse garden May 21 & came out with 18 very vigorous plants. I sure beat the odds by coming having 12 of them become females. I'm not sure what they all are, some of the seed came from "BC Bud Depot" & I have subsequently learned that they are very unreliable. (one was supposed to be a pure Indica, but is actually some kind of 12 foot Sativa monster! and very early flowering). My real problem at this time is this: My son who helps me with this project, arbitrarally and unilateraly decided that four of them needed a "good thinning out" & proceeded to take ALL the large fan leaves off, with just a few smaller ones left on the branch tips. So 4 of my Big beautiful bushy girls are just skeletons just starting to flower and bud. Any input as to the prognosis of these poor babys would be most apreciated. Good growin' to all, GL

:welcome:This is a fantastic site. I have learned so much from all the experienced veteran growers that help anyone that asks. I have also learned the hard way. That was my own stupid impatience. I made the common mistakes that KILLED my babies.:hairpull: I am only on my second indoor grow @ this time. I used to grow outside back in the seventies. I am almost 52 and smoked for years. I rarely smoke now because of drug testing on the job. I have too many years in to get the ax now.:hitchair: But look out come retirement.:smoke1: If all goes good I only have another 5 years. I grow now because the quality and all those wild strains are so cool to watch grow. I also have two sons that I found out how much they were paying for their goods I thought we could have a Father Son's project and save them some $$.:D We only grow for them to smoke.:ccc: We would never sell anything.
Back in my day you would pay $35.00 an ounce for some good Columbia Red Bud. The Hawaiian that was around @ that time was one of the best you could get. I can’t believe how much it has all changed over the years. The quality of today’s weed to what we had in the seventies is unbelievable. We needed that back than!!:peace: Well that’s enough about me.
Good Luck With Your Grow!!
The only good advice I can give is PATIENCE. Ask before you do something wrong and people here will help you so it is done right and you won’t create problems.
