If I decide to use my spare bedroom for my grow, I was wondering how this setup might work. The bedroom I would use shares a wall with my washer and dryer (I have an inside laundry room with doors so it cab be closed) and there is a 7x7 inch exhaust opening with a fan in that laundry room. Should i just run some duct through the wall (of the grow room) right into the laundry room? Would that be ok? I plan on having about 40 plants the 1st time around, 20 or so from then on after. Thanks.

EDIT: Can a mod move this to the growroom and design forum please, I thought that was the section I was in when I posted.

It'd be ideal if you could tap directly into that exaust opening bro. I bet lowes or home depot woud have a "y" connector for you.

Ok that would be fine, didnt really think of that. So just cut a hole in the ceiling of the growroom and tap in that way? Would I need another fan or just duct work going into the existing ductwork?

Yeah, exactly. Doing it that way is going to need a fairly large fan becuase of how long the tubing is going to be. I would recommend a 400 cfm or so squirrel cage fan. Just ebay "blower" and a bunch of stuff should come up for you.

Just so i get this straight: A seperat exhaust fan in the growroom that connects to the existing exhaust ductwork, correct?

You got it! You need to get that air out of there some how... So a fan is needed. You wanna push some air?
So this is where I am getting confused I guess. The rectangular piece is the part that obviously would be in the ceiling in the room, and the round part is where the duct would connect in the attic, right? Is there anything (like more duct work or a carbon filter) that needs to go from the growroom to the rectangular part in the ceiling of the room, or does that just stay open (like the exhaust in my laundry room)? I Hope you understand what I am saying.

I am also confused as to where I would get the air from (just the a/c vent in the room) or am i supposed to be pulling in outside air seperate from the a/c?

Thanks for the link. Would it be safer to buy a fan with cash at a shop though?

Okay mang. I don't have exactly a squirrel cage fan, but they are the best around. On your intake, I believe is the round part, you would put your carbon filter(This would all be near the ceiling of your room.). This would pull the air through the carbon. On the sqaure end, at home depot, they have adapters to hook it up to round piping. You would run that piping straight to your dryer vent.

And yes, it is always better to use cash. However, a fan like that will run around 200 at a shop. Best to use someone elses ebay account and paypal.

Oops, had that backwards, thanks. So if I take the a/c vent and run duct to the bottom of my bedroom will that be enough air, or do I need something from outside?

Just a fan blowing the air around inside should be enough... Some people will say you need an intake, but the suction by that squirrel cage fan will be anough to **** air in from the under the door and cracks all over.
