Enough Lumens?

Hello, Everyone

Will 8,000 lumens be good enough for a space sized 3 FT. H x 4 FT. W x 20''D?

I'm going to use T5 Floro Lighting Systems w/ cool and warm white bulbs.

This will be for the flowering and vegitative grow rooms.

i used 36,000 for that same size with outstanding results with T12's....i would atleast double up on what you have for veg and get somthing way bigger for flower

You need 5000 lumens per sq ft. You have 6.66 sq ft. So you need 33,333 lumens.

IMO, you are going to be disappointed with your yield if you flower with a T5.

T5's will do cool things for veggin' and you "can" flower with them ,but i agree with hemp goddess...go with a nice air cooled HPS setup to flower ..i found that the temps from a 1000w HPS is easy to control with a 180 cfm blower and cooltube(mine are at 75-81f..wayyyy fatter buds and prolly wayyyy more potent....if you stick to hydro and don't vegg long i would bet you can grow 6 at a time in that area...maybe only 4. i've got 5 right now in a 24sqft room and they are really crowded, but they are 5-6' monsters...2 of them had to be tied over cause they grew to the ceiling in 7 weeks..my journal has a cool home made floro fixture that worked wonders for me...perfect for the area you want to light

i agree with you guys but i cant go over a 250 W. for flowering. i know more light is better but I think it would at least give me around 28,000 lumens am I correct?

i'm considering a 250 W. MH for vegetative growth as well.

i don't pay the electric bill. trying to keep it stealth (thats why i asked about the floros). It's about .15 cents per kilowatt hour here.

You would be way better off vegging with the T5 (forget the MH) and go with as larger HPS for flowering.
