When I say burp, I'm talking about leaving the lid off. You can usually tell by how the smallest stems react to bending. If all they do is bend, it's still too damp. If they bend and then snap, they're ready. Chop up a small bud and if it stays lit long enough to get a good toke, you're good to go.
I always stick my finger in the jar. I can tell how the buds feel if they need more air time.

OK, I put a bud in a mason jar to see if there’s any condensation. How long do you leave it in there?
Kinda wondering why you'd think there may be condensation.....? If you ever think it's to wet to store then your prob right.

Above info is priceless. I might add using paper sacks for the last part of drying works well. Slows down drying a little.

I'd rather over dry a bud versus one that molds. I can rehydrate a dry bud. Mold is dangerous to lungs...trashed.

I lay down a layer of newspapers on my kitchen table and spread the buds out on it. I've got a ceiling fan I put on medium and leave 'em until they're as dry as I figure they should be. Then, into the jars they go to be watched like a hawk 'til I know they're ready to use.

Paper just seems to do a good job no matter how you incorporate it. I've used newspapers before. I always just threw them in a cardboard box with paper n bud. Close it up and make a fan blow in it. Box kinda slows it all down.

Many ways to cure our craft. Loving all this info.

I use to have a drying box I built that had two computer fans. One drawing fresh air into the box at the bottom and one drawing stale air out at the top.
Within a few days they were ready for jars and burping.
