Hows it going guys. I have just started my first grow indoors underneath my stairs and my seeds are about to sprout but im debating on switching out my (4) 40 watt each 4 foot bulbs. I didnt do much research on the CFLs but it seems it makes more sense for me. I have 2 HPS light on either side. Each 70 watts. They are staionary and nailed in but i have my 4 foot bulbs on chains and can raise them easily ,but the reason why i htink i should switch to cfls is because the casing on the 4 foot bulbs somewhat block my HPS lighting and i saw some pictures of some good CFLs and it looks to save more space in my case if i went with cfls. I saw a picture on here how they were running a metal flared out fixture with an additional Y piece to run more cfls. which allows you to run about 4-6 cfls in one plug. Sorry this is so long ,but now that i look back i could save alot of space by taking those 4 foot bulbs out cause its a tight fit being underneath the stairs. Any feeback on that setup would be great.

I agree... Im running 160 watt flours sticks total of 4 sticks.. IMO 150w hps will do the job..and keep you warm..

I started with cfl's and went through 2 grows with them. I switched to hid lighting and there is no comparison. Cfl's have their place in growing but if you can afford the hid lighting you would be happier at harvest time.:hubba:
