Couple light questions

im looking for something relatively inexpensive and not very long (4'-8' tube fluorescent), if anyone knows where to buy a multiple cfl fixture, that holds something like a half dozen thatd be great.
I came across a mercury vapor lamp and read the 100w bulb puts out about 4k lumens and it was comparable to metal halide, but as far as how it performs in growing, anyone know?
Also as far as setting up many fluro's, if i remember right i saw soft white, cool white, daylight. one was 3500k, i think another was 6500k, im guessing this is referring to light spectrum? which would be best to grow with?

ive never grown before and many growing terms are new to me so id like to get everything right before i buy, any help would be appreciated! thx.

by your name imn guessing u live in the us, its as easy as going to walmart, Lowes, Home Depot or wally world.. if you got one of those youre set,.

just remember:
Vegging= 6500k bright clear white color reflection
Flowerring= 2500 K yellowish looking color reflection

while youre at it get some 6" fans too,

this setup is for 2-4 plants: For (HOME DEPOT OR LOWES)
2 bathroom fixtures that hold 3 socket bulbs each (for a total of 6 lights)
buy 6 (BRight white CFLS Bulbs, not the sticks of fluoros..) 42 W each Lumens should be displayed on the packaging. that should get you on your way for around $30..

k thanks ill prolly end up doing that, isn't 42 watt same as 150, all i could find at lowe's/home depot was 100w max, i might end up trying it over two plants

You can get those CFL's cheep on-line at www.bulbs.com

The shipping is only $8.90 and if you get 6 of the 26 watt 5000k for grow you will have 10,200 lumens, which should be enough for 1 or 2 plants. The are 2.69 each. Go ahead and order your 6 26 watt 2700k for flower at the same time, so you only have to pay one shipping charge. They have higher wattage if you want, just depends on how many ladies you plan to grow.
