Getting a poll going to see what and how everyone clones. Thought it would be helpful for others to see what each other is using. Please after voting, pop ina few words on which product you used and how well it worked. I think this could be a good thread.
I made votes public so every can see who is doing what.

I use rootone. Its cheap and easy to get. I had better results with Olivias Gel, but I had to order that off-line. So I just kept at it with the rootone until I had it down and working. but IMHO the powders are harder than the gel.
I just use a method similar to hicks. I've always had great success using the dirt method over others.

1st time i tried was 3 days a go. Used Olivias and Grodan Rockwool cubes. So far so good

Why don't I see an option for "No rooting hormone"?? :p hee hee he
I've never tried "rockwool", and with the 'Peat pucks', I had less than satisfactory results. Other than that, I've had relatively the same success rate with any of the above hormones, even none at all in some cases.
The biggest failure I ever encountered while attempting to root cuttings, was the aero-cloner. I just couldn't make it work for me. Too dumb, prolly...:D

I use Hicks method and let me say it kicks ass. The first time i used it all 4 clones lived. The second time 22 of 24 clones lived with all of them rooting and being transplanted in 12 days. :D I use schultz TakeRoot powder and as a medium i use 1/2 General Purpose potting soil and 1/2 Perlite. I can't thank Hick enough. Thanks again Hick. ;) Here is a pic of the 22 clones that were taken 13 days ago.

I use rockwool cubes and Botanicare Power rooting gel.
Worked great.

Bro! That cabinet is a work of art man. I keep my clones going in the aero setup until they have a good root mass.

How do you judge when to put them into flower? Do you have a set time?

Hey, do you have a link to someone who sells that black fan you're using two of? It looks like maybe 4"? How do you wire it?

Thanks Stoney Bud. Well this will be our first time putting them straight into flower from clone. Last time we vegged for 8 weeks i think. When we transplanted them they already had nice roots so in a week or less they will be ready for flower. We wanna try and keep them small this time around. The small fans you see are CMF computer fans you can get at Radio Shack for like $20. Here is a link on how to wire them.

peet pellets and Wilson Gel

i have had about 98% success rate and have roots in no more than 6 days...average root showing for myself is 5 days

my opinion....you can never dip your cutting too much....my cutting is dipped about 4 times before i place in the pellet

its dipped RIGHT AWAY after cutting from the plant...then i lightly score the stem and cut on an angle and re-dip....then i trim my leaves....re-dip...figure out where shes's gonna be on my tray....and re-dip one last time before inserting into my pellet

transplanting 029 (Small).jpg

and that glass of water thing......it works too.....tried it just to see once....but it does take ALOT longer for roots ;)

I tried some gel then water and hoped for the best. It failed...

I just used shultz take root and rapid rooters in a mini dome, its been 2 days and they seem to be doing OK. I think I would like to try the gel next time though as the powder was a little tougher to use than expected. Peace Out and GG

hey dilla'..."tougher to use"..? are you soaking your cuts in water between the actions of cutting and dipping?..
I like to use a folded sheet of paper. Useing the crease to hold the hormone while I roll the soaked cutting.

Yep I definitely did it that way accept I think I may have put too much rooting hormone in the folded paper. It seemed to get real clumpy and I had a hard time getting it cleanly into the rapid rooter...I feel like I had to cut too big of a hole in the rapid rooter to get it inside...Anyhow I think I would like to try it in soil instead because you could at least reform the hole if you need to make it larger. Regardless it looks like my clones are doing ok, it's been 48 hours and they are not showing any signs of dying. (fingers crossed)...The only reason I thought gel would be easier is because of the fact it might slip into the rapid rooter easier...Thanks for the response...Peace Out and GG

Homemade bubbler here. I have tried the other ways as well. I find the bubbler is by far the easiest, and highest successful rooting percentage for me.[

I have way better turnout using just a glass of water with supernitrate solution than I do with rooting powder! I bought rooting powder and couldn't get anything to take root with it in soil or in water.

i have a liquid rooting compound that i immediately dip into and then carry over to my bubble cloner.

then its just ph'd water from their

13/14 success rate so far.

next grow i'm going to add the rooting concentrate to the bubbler to see if it inhibits root growth sooner/faster growth or just kills them????
